On the 27th of February, the Gyeonggi Provincial Police Department released an official statement through its representative that the former iKON member B.I tested negative on all drug tests made.
"In all drug tests and drug evaluation tests, B.I's results all came back as negative. We had done a meticulous inspection and evaluation, testing the singer for drug use not just by blood but also by his hair follicles. The National Forensic Department has tested all of his biological samples and concluded that B.I has no traces of any illegal substance in his system. This clears him of illegal drug use and this may also mean that his drug-dealing case may not progress. However, the prosecution will still have the last say. As of now, we have already forwarded the results to the prosecution. Thank you."
B.I was accused based on an accusation from an individual which police didn't name. The former iKON member underwent a 14-hour long interrogation in which he denied the drug use but admitted to some minor offenses. Because of this, however, the police labeled him as one of the official suspects of the case.
The issue has also damaged B.I's career, forcing the singer to leave the idol group iKON. Stay tuned for more updates.
