K-Idols' Schedules that Got Cancelled Due to COVID-19 Outbreak

As of the recent news regarding the novel Coronavirus outbreak in Korea, the government made an all-out effort to contain the epidemic and prevent the further spread at the national level.

On Sunday, President Moon Jae-in put South Korea on the highest possible alert in its fight against the Coronavirus, which became a move that made the government lockdown cities, companies and schools suspended activities, sports events, and flights have canceled, too. And this plan does not exclude idols and their future activities with their fans. Music shows in Korea have decided to pre-record all of their guests' performances in the show without their fans. Here are a list of events that were cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak:

1. BTS "Map Of The Soul" Tour in Seoul

On the 28th of February, Big Hit Entertainment has announced on Weverse the last-minute cancellation of their tour scheduled for April 11, 12, 18, and 19 at Jamsil Stadium. "We hope that the situation will improve, and we must take into consideration the health and safety of hundreds and thousands of guests and our artist." Big Hit Entertainment added on their announcement. The tickets were already refunded to most fans and reported they decided to use the refunds as a donation to Hope Bridge to help those affected by the outbreak.

2. Chungha "88rising head in the clouds" in Jakarta

It was recently announced that MNH Entertainment, Chungha's agency, halted all of her future activities as two of her staff were tested positive for Coronavirus. The agency posted on her fan cafe saying, Chung-ha returned to Korea on the 24th of February after she finished her schedule in Italy, and one of the staff members who accompanied her to the shooting showed signs of fever. Fortunately, Chungha was tested negative, but the Korea Centers for Disease Control & Prevention carries out policies as requested. "For the sake of safety, we have canceled all scheduled schedules for the time being, and we will take the best possible measures and deal faithfully with them afterward," the agency said.

3. Red Velvet "La Rouge" in Yokohama

On the 27th of February, Red Velvet's agency has decided to postpone their upcoming Japanese concerts. The group set to hold their Yokohama concert for their "La Rouge" Arena Tour in Japan for the 7th and 8th of March. However, they have announced the postponement of the activity to follow the Japanese government's policies to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

4. (G)I-DLE "I-LAND: WHO AM I" World Tour

Cube Entertainment has also uploaded a post on the group's official Twitter account announcing that they will postpone their tour alongside their comeback as well, citing the "unforeseeable circumstances around the globe." The group canceled their Bangkok stop last February and scheduled to continue the rest of the tour. However, with the postponement of their tour, just like a lot of artists, they decided to stay on the safe side to fight the outbreak of the COVID-19.

5. Tomorrow By Together "FANLIVE DREAM X TOGETHER" 2020

Another group from Big Hit Entertainment who were supposed to celebrate their first anniversary through their first-ever fan gathering with MOA, the company has also decided to halt the groups' activity for the fans' safety. The 2020 TXT FANLIVE DREAM X TOGETHER', which is announced and scheduled on the 7th and 8th of March at Blue Square iMarket Hall, has been canceled. The statement also included, "We ask for your understanding that this was based on our consideration for the Fans' and Artist' health and safety as a top priority, also coordinating with the Government's policy to refrain opening mass events to prevent COVID-19."

Luckily for the fans, the company decided to continue the groups' celebration of their anniversary on Live Stream instead of FANLIVE. Stay tuned for their announcements.
