BIGBANG Officially Renews Their Contracts with YG Entertainment + May Perform in Coachella

BIGBANG members G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P, and Daesung have officially signed their renewed contracts under the same agency, YG Entertainment.

On Tuesday, March 11, the label made its official announcement to the public regarding BIGBANG's renewal of the contract with them.

"Big bang is a group that surpasses the limitations of the musical influence itself. They have contributed to changing the South Korean's view of Pop Culture and we will always continue to support Big Bang in all the possible way we can so that they can continue to thrive as great artists in the history of K-pop under our management, YG Entertainment," the agency stated.

The management also stated that this is the third time since 2006 that the "Kings of K-pop" entrusted their careers with them.

It has been reported in January that the quartet will be making their comeback this year after taking a two-year hiatus.

Apart from this news of their comeback, BIGBANG may still perform at Coachella Festival, which was rescheduled to take place in October due to the concerns regarding COVID-19. If the original lineup pushes through, they will be performing with Charlie XCX, Calvin Harris, Rage Against The Machine, and many more. Further, they are set to perform for two days!

The announcement was posted by Taeyang through his Instagram account.

Other K-pop groups like Epik High, who already performed in 2016, may also be back to perform this year at the star-studded music and arts festival in California in October.

It has been written in history when the K-pop girl group BLACKPINK has made it to perform in the Coachella in 2019.

It was in 2019 when BIGBANG's youngest member Seungri left the group and left YG Entertainment during, following his involvement in the Burning Sun scandal.
