K-pop star Yoo Seung Jun finally won his case against the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Los Angeles, California. On Friday, March 13, Chief Justice Kim Sun Soo of the first division of the Supreme Court, endorsed the original decision of which Yoo Seung Jun succeeded in protesting his plea over the revocation of his VISA.

It will be recalled that in 2015, Yoo Seun Jun's application for an F-4 VISA was declined, thus prompting him to file a case against the decision of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in California.

The avoidance of South Korean soldiers and youth to undergo military service was considered as a valid reason for the refusal of the government to issue his VISA during the first and second trials. However, the Supreme Court disagreed.

The Supreme Court discharged the second ruling over the case as it considered it illegal for the Consulate General to reject the issuance of VISA for the Ministry of Justice forbade the fK-pop star from stepping inside the country.

Fortunately, in November 2019, Yoo Seung Jun found favor from the Seoul High Court as its decision over the lawsuit battled against the Los Angeles Korean Consulate General took his side. Even though the aforementioned agency appealed, still, Seun Jun's case was dismissed in favor of him as it is declared that there are no massive violations of the law.

Yoo Seung Jun was a famous Korean singer in the 2000s who was prominently seen on-stage performances and TV programs. He even mentioned that he will undergo military duties as an obligatory responsibility of male South Koreans at a certain age required. Even the most popular celebrities must step-down from the limelight for quite some time to fulfill such military duty as a citizen.

However, in 2002, he accomplished his American citizenship and surrendered his native residency and technically made him exempted from the mandatory military enlistment. Thus, a decision from the Ministry of Justice prohibited the K-pop singer from getting into South Korea.

After 17 years, Yoo Seung Jun opened about his controversial VISA case denying him to step inside his native land, for the very first time in a TV interview aired on SBS's "Night of Real Entertainment" September 17, 2019 episode.

In the interview, Yoo Seung Joo clarified what really happened. He noted that his statement about military enlistment and clarified that there was a piece of misleading information done and he would never want to break the law or take any shortcuts.

He also mentioned in the said interview that he is not acquiring a Korean citizenship rather, the right to enter it as he described it as his identity and roots. He honestly said that he misses and loves the country.

Yoo Seung Joo's fight regarding his VISA entry is one of the most notable controversies in the Korean entertainment industry. He might finally set foot into South Korea of which he has fought for so long.
