Korean netizens are criticizing Kahi, former After School member, after uploading her photos in Bali enjoying the time outside without a mask, together with her family, amidst the pandemic coronavirus.
In the photos that were uploaded, Kahi is seen sightseeing and enjoying the serene atmosphere at the beach without a mask on. Her kid and husband were not wearing masks as well.
Netizens, upon seeing the images, began hurling negative remarks to the singer-actress.
"If you cared about the state of this country (Bali) you wouldn't have uploaded this," an online user wrote.
"Honestly, this is disgusting. We can't even come out of our houses," another one said.
Shortly after, Kahi wrote a lengthy message to her followers, expressing her apologies and explaining that what she did was due to "mother's love."
Kahi wrote, "I've been sick for a while, and corona is a problem too. For a while, I was sequestered and came to the sea with courage for my children."
She also added, "I wish our children could play as fast as they could while having a good time," expressing her wish for her children to live a normal life though it would be hard due to the plague.
Kahi also said as her sons were having colds and cough while inside their house, but it miraculously disappeared after coming out, claiming that the "Nature's force" treated her children.
However, netizens did not accept her apology as she still did not comply with the home quarantine and lockdown restriction. As per Kahi's post, she shared that aside from the sea, her family also went to the mountain and visited the zoo.
Kahi then replied that their house in Bali is in front of the beach and is surrounded by mountain, and explained that they went out early in the morning when there are no other people outside.
Korean netizens commented then, "Even if she was not confirmed positive with coronavirus, the fact that the spreading of COVID-19 has intensified, has meant that outdoor activities in the sea should be avoided considering concern about infection."
Meanwhile, the controversy grew bigger as Kahi, who has been living in Bali since last year, announced that her family are going back to Korea.
Netizens were suspicions as, prior to this, Kahi went to Bali for immunity against diseases, for the island is fine dust-free and has a "Nature's force" treatment effect.
"We decided to leave as this place (Bali) is getting dangerous, and it is difficult to inspect, it would be more difficult if we can't come back to Korea," she said.
In response to this, Knetz commented, "I thought "nature" cured your children? So why are you coming back to Korea?"
Kahi then confessed that she was going crazy as her children were also being involved. Thus, she decided to set her account to private and later on deleted her posts.
"Forgive me for my fooling writing. I'm immature and lacking," she told her followers before going private.
