Wheesung Caught on CCTV Purchasing Drugs + Suspected Witness Details How He Passed Out

Wheesung has allegedly been caught by surveillance buying drugs that caused him to pass out in a bathroom in Seoul.

The R&B singer was seen on camera alighting from a taxi and approaching an unidentified man in front of a building to allegedly buy drugs, suspected to be the anesthetic etomidate, according to the first report by MBN News on April 2. He is then seen accessing a building on that same day just to find himself collapsing unconscious about 30 minutes later in a restroom.

The suspected witness who had seen Wheesung unconscious said, "At first he wasn't sufficiently aware to understand, so he replied with odd responses. He then constantly began to convulse, as if he was freezing."

MBN identifies the drug found at the scene as being a form of anesthetic, and although it is not a prohibited medication, it cannot be purchased without a prescription from a doctor.

Wheesung later told authorities, "I managed to make a transaction with someone I've met over the internet."

The 38-year-old singer was found in a building in Seoul's Songpa District on March 31 at 8:30 P.M. KST, based on the most recent reports on April 1. Authorities at the scene found a plastic bag, syringes and a fluid-filled container.

Wheesung, currently being prosecuted for the unlawful use of propofol, was subjected to a drug check at the police station but his urine was discovered to be negative for illicit substances.

He was sent home since police confirmed he was using anesthetics not listed as illicit drugs.

They did release their desires to investigate the matter, nevertheless.

It was in 2019 when he was also caught in a drug controversy with the TV personality Amy. He later addressed the conflicts that emerged on every media outlet concerning Amy and himself during an interview in May 2019.

His full statement read:

"I wanted to speak out for all people who trust me and are helping me. It has been such a difficult and frustrating time, but I am glad that even though it was a little late, the confusion could be resolved. The misunderstanding might probably have been settled if both people were in Korea and spoke to each other regularly, but I believe the confusion developed after Amy went abroad and we didn't even speak for a long time.

Because of the unexpected situation, I experienced tough times and got a huge shock, but I also found that there was a cycle of misunderstanding which I hadn't thought about. I believe that Amy was also a victim throughout the long period of conflict and I'm attempting to understand her.

I'm going to go back to my primary role and work as an artist and I'm intending to indulge myself in my promotions. I want to acknowledge my fans who have put their faith in me and given me courage. I'm going back with more mature, successful songs."

It was in April 2019 when Amy announced on Instagram that she was allegedly taking drugs with a close celebrity friend, asked her to shoulder the blame, and intended to threaten her with pornographic video.
