The Korean girl group TWICE and Park So Dam made it to Forbes class of 2020 "30 Under 30 Asia" list.
The annual list identifies 30 individuals or groups under the age of 30 who are the most influential in Asia in 10 categories, for such a total of 300 entries. Actress Park So Dam, whose success in the Oscar-winning film "Parasite" soared to worldwide fame last year, takes a place on the list.
She is also well recognized for her appearances in "The Silenced" and "The Priests" shows, as well as series such as "Since It's The First Time" and "Cinderella and Four Knights." Park So Dam came out of business in 2015 after having made a good impact on her performance at The Silenced, which made her won the Busan Film Critics Awards for Best Supporting Actress.
She then portrayed the Veteran and the Throne in the blockbuster, which led to her role in the well-known mystery thriller The Priests. Her role and performance as a possessed high school student was awesome and earned her numerous Best New Actress nodes.
Park expanded her acting talent to Television too. In 2016 she got the lead position in KBS2's A Beautiful Mind medical drama. She appeared in a black comedy by Bong Joon-ho in 2019, Parasite. The film has received international praise from critics and was a South Korean critical and commercial success.
She gained recognition for her role as a crafty, whipsmart baby sister of the family, and became known for her "Jessica Jingle". In 2020, Park was assigned as an ambitious makeup artist in the youth drama A Record of Youth
TWICE was picked for the list, too. JYP Entertainment's nine-member girl band launched in 2015 and became one of the world's most popular and successful groups of their era.
Twice gained attention with their song "Cheer Up" in 2016 The track was recorded on the Gaon Digital Chart at rank 1, and became the year's greatest-performing single. At two massive music awards shows - Melon Music Awards and Mnet Asian Music Awards - it also earned "Album of the Year."
Twice has produced more than 1.2 million copies of their four EPs and special album throughout 19 months of the debut.
The name of the group, Twice, was established by Park Jin Young Founder of JYP Entertainment. He described, "The community would reach the hearts of people twice, once through their ears, and again through their eyes."
On February 5, 2020, Twice launched a repackage of & Twice introducing a new track called "Swing" including a new version of the music video "Fake & True" entitled "The Truth Game."
The band played at the Tokyo Dome on 3 and 4 March 2020 in two recently added stops of their world tour "Twicelights."
A tour encore called the World Tour Twicelights Finale was originally planned at the KSPO Dome in Seoul on March 7 and 8, 2020, but was later scrapped amid concerns about the coronavirus pandemic of 2019-20.
Their latest return was last September's hit "Feel Special."
