Taeyeon's upcoming track "Happy" has allegedly leaked online according to her fans.
Some fans of Girl's Generation's Taeyeon were furious when a couple of Twitter accounts allegedly spread the K-pop idol's latest song that was supposed to debut in March. Because of the passing of her father, the said event was postponed by her label to give her adequate space and time to mourn and recover.
It is said that a Japanese music platform accidentally released the song but took it down immediately. However, some netizens have already downloaded the track and uploaded it on their social media channels. This made the fans feel sad and in rage as there is yet a confirmation of the official release date of "Happy."
As a response, Taeyeon's concerned fans asked everyone to report and block the Twitter accounts responsible for leaking the said song. "Please if you truly care about Taeyeon or at least care about someone's hard work being leaked, help me block and report these accounts. They're leaking Taeyeon's Happy through their tweet," said one Twitter user. A lot have responded to the call and some of the original accounts that have uploaded the track were blocked.
Many have expressed their grief over Taeyeon's leaked song. "Please delete the leaks of the audio. It is really disrespectful towards Taeyeon and the fans. Taeyeon worked hard for it so the fans could enjoy her birthday special. I'm sure you know why it was postponed but I'm sure too that you guys can understand Taeyeon," explained one fan. True enough, people have known how much the leader of Girl's Generation has worked hard to come up with the project.
Some empathize with Taeyeon since she has experienced consecutive sorrows in her personal life with her father's death on her birthday, and her grandmother's passing just a month after.
A Sone said: "You didn't know what Taeyeon went through everytime she released or make new music for her fans yet you have the guts to leak it?"
"Taeyeon is already going through so much and y'all wanna leak this song which is obviously very special to her but it's also obvious she's not ready to release it," added one tweet.
Others are calling SM Entertainment to take a legal action about the said music leakage. "Ask SM to sue everyone who leaked Taeyeon's song," to quote another fan.
Taeyeon's label is yet to comment on the issue. In general, many fans are in great dismay to see this event happen to their favorite K-pop idol.
Earlier in March, SM confirmed that Taeyeon will release her solo track "Happy" on the 9th of March through various music streaming platforms. It was specifically mentioned that the said song is dedicated to her fans.
