Apink's Bomi got emotional after heartbreaking news came right on her live streaming session with fans. She broke in tears after knowing that a person who admires her passed away.
A couple of days ago, she had an online fan signing with Pink Pandas (fandom name for Apink). However, a message popped up, saying that someone who admires her a lot, passed on. The said Pink Panda was a Japanese girl who has been following her for many years.
The said commenter wanted to reveal a message, specifically intended for the K-pop star before the said fan died. She tried to compose herself, yet she was not able to hold back her tears. Apink members consoled her, while Pink Pandas, who were present on the said event, expressed their grief over the sad news.
Fans have become one of the backbones of K-pop stars to embrace stardom. Some would go all out in supporting them, such as promoting online, purchasing all their albums and merchandise, and sometimes, defend them from slanderers. They have become swords and shields that protect the people they look up to.
The passing of a follower would've been unnoticeable by other celebrities, and Bomi lamenting her fan's death represents how much stars do care about them as well. In one of her videos, she once stated how she feels about her fans.
"You may all think differently, but each fan who is cheering for Apink, including me, we don't see them as just fans passing by," she said. "Since there are many fans, we want to keep each of you in our eyes. We are very thankful."
She also said sorry for those fans who felt that she neglects them because knowing how tremendous they are in number, she felt apologetic not memorizing everyone's name.
"I think the relationship between a celebrity and the fans can be far from each other, but on the other hand, it can be closer to the family," Bomi explained.
Apink's Bomi, or Yoon Bo-mi in real life, is originally from Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. Aside from having a beautiful face, she is a black belter in Taekwondo. However, her love for music pushed her to pursue it later in life. She debuted with the group in 2011.
Bomi also appeared in several TV series, such as "Reply 1997," "Because This Is My First Life," and "Love Detective Sherlock K."
Apink just recently had their comeback EP "Look," with the title track "Dumhdurum."
