Children's Day in South Korea celebrated every 5th of May of the year and was founded by Pang Chong-hwan, a Korean children's writer in 1923. It is a tradition to press on to children their national pride and sense of independence. Aside from that, parents are also highlighted as the individuals who are responsible for promoting a good life for every child.
Although officially founded on the aforementioned year, Koreans have been celebrating the event for over 500 years ago. It is said to be one of the four greatest national holidays of the country. The citizens would dress in their most precious clothing and prepare worship food for their ancestors.
