On May 8, PlayM Entertainment, the agency of K-pop groups Apink and VICTON, announced the debut date of their new female idol group.
According to the official statement of the company, they are planning to launch a seven-member girl group called PlayM Girls, which was introduced last December in 2019. Today, the agency confirmed that the group will finally debut in June.
PlayM Entertainment told the press,"We have confirmed the debut time frame for our 7-member rookie girl group, currently known as PlayM Girls, for this June."
Upon the announcement, K-pop fans and netizens wrote their reactions on social media, showing their interest and excitement as this will be the first time in about ten years that PlayM will launch a girl group (Apink debuted in 2011). It is also the first new idol team to be introduced in about four years since VICTON's debut.
Meanwhile, the members of PlayM Girls are also picking the interests of netizens as to what kind of group and concept fans should look forward to from them. Nevertheless, the agency affirms everyone that they will share the detailed preparation process for the group's debut in the following weeks by releasing individual members' profiles.

1. Lee Soo Jin ('01 liner)
The main dancer of the new rookie group, Soo Jin, gains interest from the fans after joining MIXNINE, a dance battle show. She is then known for being a "genius" due to her outstanding skills when it comes to groupmates. However, due to a car accident, it led her to drop out of the competition.
2. Shin Ji Yoon ('02 liner)
Joined the show, MIXNINE as well, Ji Yoon amazed viewers with her ability to speak different languages. She is set to debut as a rapper, lead vocalist, and lead dancer of PlayM Girls.
3. Han Ji Min ('02 liner)
Han Ji Min, also known as Monday, will be debuting as the main vocalist of the group. Aside from her majestic vocals, she is also a passionate lady when it comes to sports, leading her to claim the nickname, "Super Human."
4. Park So Eun ('02 liner)
So Eun, who joined MIXNINE along Haelin, Soo Jin, and Ji Yoon, confessed that her role model is the singer-actress IU (Lee Ji Eun). Netizens are amazed by her visuals as she doesn't have any dot or any mole on her face.
5. Lee Jae Hee ('04 liner)
Before pursuing a career as an idol, she was introduced as a young actress. She played roles for movies "Detective K," "My Litte Baby," "The Fatal Encounter," and many more.
6. Han Ji Hyo ('04 liner)
The former trainee of SM Entertainment, Ji Hyo, hereinafter Jihan, trained for two years and two months before debuting as a member of PlayM Girls.
7. Jo Hye Won ('05 liner)
During their broadcast for "Who Are U?" Hye Won revealed her stage name to be Zoa. She is the rapper and the "giant baby" or maknae of the group as well.
