NU'EST finally made their official comeback!
The band conducted a digital presentation on May 11 to commemorate the successful launching of their eighth mini-album "The Nocturne." The release represents their first return in seven months since the success of their seventh mini-album.
"I am both excited and anxious about releasing an album after a very long period," Baekho stated. "We've been working very hard to introduce a new, more mature side."
Minhyun continued, "Since seven months have passed after our last return, I am very excited to introduce everyone another side of us. We dedicated extra attention to our dance routines and have been doing a lot of training to demonstrate how much we have changed."
"The Nocturne" is an album that provides a new interpretation of the love tale recently told by NU'EST. This reflects on the traditional nightly motif when people are likely to become even more reflective, and it tells stories to which everyone can connect.
Commenting on the theme of the album, JR said, "We decided to do something which is not our normal bright idea."
Aron provided significant aspects for fans to look out for. "I hope everybody, and also our facial expressions, reflects at the improvements in our appearance and personalities," he added.
The opening track "I'm in trouble" reflects the time of intense interpersonal attraction. The group's elegant and dramatic appearance in the music video modified its style. When questioned regarding the possible best part of the music clip, JR responded, "Honestly, I think the greatest part was all the way to the conclusion from the start."
Minhyun responded, "The faces of each member. I believe through our faces, and you can sense a range of different 'night's.'"
Ron added, "Our choreography is great. I believe our choreography is very stylish and impressive."
JR claimed he chose to give the supporters a night, saying, "We'll take full responsibility with this soundtrack for the nighttime of our fans."
The album also features five other songs in addition to the title track, such as "Moon Dance," "Firework," "Back To Me," "Must," something that Ren and Baekho contributed composing, and "Shooting Star," a track devoted entirely to their fans.
In wondering about his grandfather who passed away last March, Ren wrote the lyrics of "Must," and Baekho outlined the creative process further.
The latter shared, "Ren decided to write his grandfather a message about what he wished to tell him, and I converted that into song lyrics. Because it is a music which comprises the tales of the members, I wish that everybody will listen to it."
The members shared love for their fans, too. "I seriously can not believe that we are in our 9th year already," Aron added. "Our focus is on our fans. I would like to acknowledge all our friends who support us all the time, very much.
JR echoed the same thought, stating, "Every minute I've invested throughout the past years with NU'EST has been important and meaningful. Whenever I feel tired, I look for encouragement towards our fans."
