In one of the most recent news of Dispatch, the news agency allegedly revealed how they were able to spot some K-pop idols bar hopping on the night of April 25 until the dawn of the following day, despite the intensified reminder of South Korea about Social distancing.
The involved K-po idols are said to include Jaehyun of NCT under SM Entertainment. According to the said report, the male K-pop stars went bar hopping in Itaewon of which they entered into a restaurant and a number of entertainment facilities.
With this, Jaehyun's label released an official statement to give their side of the issue as well as apologizing to the public.
"Hello, This is SM Entertainment. We would like to apologize for creating a huge worry especially during these moments when a lot of individuals are succumbing to difficulties as a result of the Coronavirus-19.
Jaehyun indeed went to an Itaewon bar and café on April 25 with his acquaintances. But, he did not go inside the specified club that is said to be the problem, and aside from that, it was 7 days prior to the confirmed patient who was reported to be from Itaewon.
Jaehyun does not exhibit symptoms of the said pandemic, yet he voluntarily had himself tested. The results came out to be negative. He is currently contemplating on not exercising precautions in spite of the consistent reminder about limiting contact and social distancing rule.
Our agency should have managed our artist to follow social distancing even in his personal life, and we are sorry about it. We will do something about it by implementing better guidance towards our talents so that events such as this will not arise in the future."
KCDC asked everyone who visited Itaewon between the 24th of April to the 6th of May to have themselves tested for COVID-19, as the number of positive cases rise. The viruse has re-emerged and everyone who went to Itaewon must self-isolate for 14 days. Jungkook, Jaehyun, Mingyu, and Eunwoo were said to be hanging-out in the said area between the mentioned dates which alarmed the public.
After April 25, Jaehyun attended several events such as being an MC of the Inkigayo and its other episodes on April 26, May 3 and May 10.
South Korea is one of the leading countries globally who recorded a high number of positive cases since the early part of 2020. As of press time, the country has 11,065 confirmed cases with 263 deaths and 9,904 recoveries. Although it looks like the South Koreans have a high capacity to combat the said ailment, still, proper precautionary measures is imposed among them.
While KPOP celebrities are being cautious to not contact with Coronavirus, Yoon-hak of Supernova was confirmed as positive of the said virus and is recorded as the first South Korean celebrity to acquire it in April. The good news is that on the 15th of May, the boyband's label SV Entertainment announced that he was officially discharged from the hospital after proper treatment has been done. It has been more than a month of that he was confined from the said health facility.
