MONSTA X slayed in their online showcase on May 26 to celebrate the release of their new album, "FANTASIA X."
The sextet's leader, Shownu, shared, "This is our first local promotion after a long time, so we worked very hard to make it all ideal and successful. We believe that good songs and performance results are the ideal way of repaying our fans who always give us support and encouragement. We're going to work hard to show them that."
Kihyun then said, "This album has been a painstaking process. We tried to alter and adapt the tracks, and we also trained very hard. I'm glad we've been able to show everyone the tracks we had such difficulties over. It's not only the melody, beats, and lyric vibe, but our performance introduces a different aspect to the songs."
He added, "Normally our opening track was produced without confining ourselves to conventions. It appears to contain the point that we should be presented in our own vibrant style, as seamless as feasible."
Minhyuk said, "Overall, there is a natural and flashy ambiance in all the songs. There's plenty of leather, in the style of old Western films cast in the wild. We attempted to correlate a sexy vibe and a free-spirited atmosphere. We tried several different things, from all gold to bright colors."
Minhyuk also shared his description to "FANTASIA," saying that it "represents the most amazing and creative part of your life, so we worked on capturing that aspect of ourselves."
Also, in the album, Joohoney and I.M spoke about their self-produced songs. "'FLOW' is a soundtrack that relates us to swans," Joohoney stated.
"Swans on the water are stunningly gorgeous, but they paddle underneath the water like mad. I compared swans to celebrities' lifestyles. I intended it to have a meaning of ease, as though we should go along with the flow every now and then," Joohoney added.
"'Stand Up' is a Monbebe (fandom name) fan track. It implies we should all be standing united. This is a theme that I wish will give power to people, especially during COVID-19 pandemic," he went on.
As for I.M, he shared that "'Zone' is in EDM style, so listening to that is fun. It has a positive vibe and implies we're the strongest in this field. I want to sing it in live performances, really."
Meanwhile, MONSTA X also discussed their possible compulsory military service, with Shownu stating, "No specifics concerning my enlistment are yet to be decided. I'm going to do the best I could in MONSTA X right now since nothing is confirmed yet."
"FANTASIA X" marks as Joohoney's reunion with his members after taking a hiatus in January this year to focus on his health.
"Before I got back for this comeback, I had a delay. I struggled hard to get back with a positive outlook and a good position. I would like to see Monbebes very much. We're not always able to show what MONSTA X does for Monbebe, but I strongly think that they know anyway," Joohoney confessed.
"I wish Monbebe, just like everybody else, can grow stronger. MONSTA X is going to cheer on you," he said.
