[Trigger Warning/Content Warning: Mentions of Self-Harm and Suicide]
Former AOA Mina sparked concerns among her fans after seeing her alarming SNS post.
In her most recent Instagram update (now deleted), Mina's fans could not help but feel anxious that the idol might be going through something. The said photo shows her palm. While it's seemingly a harmless photo, eagle-eyed netizens spotted s bruise on her wrist. Thus, this created immediate fear among her followers, who now believe that something might happen to her.
Digging into the story, Mina lost her grandmother and her pet dog. On June 4, she shared a photo of her dog and captioned it with: "I'm so sorry for not doing anything for you, Hodong. You were as nice and cool as you look. I love you. I hope you can have fun in heaven and be happy. Please..."
In a separate post, she shared a burial photo of her grandmother, who passed away and said, "Thank you for loving and caring for me. I miss my grandmother's arms. I love my angelic grandmother. Make yourself at home."
Many fans also expressed their condolences amidst these sad times of her life.
"I'm sorry for your loss, rest in peace Mina's grandma... She is watching for you and your family! Stay strong," said one follower.
And since she posted the now-deleted photo, her fans took to social media to encourage everyone to send some uplifting words to the K-pop idol. They initially feared that if they don't address it, something unfortunate might happen (and not a single soul would like it), just like other K-pop stars who showed signs of sadness on their SNS and were too late to know as they have ended their lives.
"Her posts are really triggering and kinda becoming weird... I hope she's doing alright. She's my ultimate bias above anyone else, and I can't bear to see her like this tbh. After she left AOA, I became more worried [about] her. I hope she's getting more support than before," said a worried fan.
"Please leave encouraging messages to former AOA member Mina. This is her latest IG post, which got deleted right after Elvis saw her wound on her wrists, which indicates she is self-harming and that she is struggling mentally she really needs our help," a fan wrote.
In May of last year, FNC Entertainment confirmed that Mina decided not to renew her contract, leaving the group that now has five remaining members: Jimin, Hyejeong, Chanmi, and Yuna and Seolhyun.
As quoted by the label, "However, after 7 years together and a series of long discussions with the members and the company, Mina has decided to take a different path to make her new dream come true."
