AOA's Shin Jimin generated social media frenzy after she was revealed be have bullied former member Kwon Mina for a decade.
While Jimin has been receiving multitudes of hate from netizens and Elvis, the other Jimins of K-pop confused plenty of fans, thus they wrongfully received online detestation, too.
There are other idols who are named Jimin in the industry: Park Jimin of BTS, actress Han Jimin, soloist Park Jimin former member of 15&, comedian Kim Jimin, and Lim Jimin of PlayM Boys.
Given the global fame of BTS, the group's vocalist Jimin earned the ire of social media users. Netizens were confused about who was Kwon Mina pertaining to, but ARMYs instantly came to his rescue to clear things up The soloist Jimin, who also goes with Jamie, also received uninteded hate.
"DO NOT ATTACK BTS' PARK JIMIN. He is not involved in the bullying of AOA's Mina. The one who bullied Mina was AOA's Shin Jimin," said one fan on Twitter.
"Uhm I'm seeing some confusion on my feed. Note that AOA Jimin is Shin Jimin, NOT Park Jimin of 15& and the After School club show. They are different people, nobody should be attacking @/jiminpark07 (JiminxJamie)," cleared one fan too.
"Y'all, cancel Shin Jimin. Not Park Jimin from BTS or Jamie. Shin is the one who bullied Mina of AOA for 10 years. Get it right. Cancel Shin Jimin please. This girl here," defended one netizen.
"Again, the girl in the first photo is Shin Jimin of AOA. The other girl in photos 2 and 3 is Park Jimin (Jamie)0, former 15& member and current soloist. DON'T MIX THEM UP PLEASE," wrote one netizen too.
"Do you even know the problem here...? It's Shin Jimin not Park Jimin .You're really embarassing yourself .LOL. You're a blonk .BTW here Park Jimin walking to bless your eyes," another fan clarifying the confusion.
In a series of lengthy posts on Instagram, Mina confessed that Shin Jimin bullied her for ten years, which prompted her to depart from the group and do self-hard. She shared how she endured the bullying of her then-leader and, in one of her posts on Instagram, publushed a photo her scarred wrist.
Later on, Jimin released her letter of apology, to which Mina countered immediately.
Eventually, FNC Entertainment announced Jimin's withdrawal from the group and her retirement from the industry.
