The netizen who claimed they bullied by APRIL's Naeun has come out with a handwritten letter admitting they had lied about it all.
On July 24, the netizen shared a short letter on an online community forum, saying:
"Everything I said about APRIL Naeun's elementary school bullying is a lie, and she hadn't done anything. I sincerely apologize to her fans as well as to APRIL's Naun for causing such damage by creating these rumors."
Upon the release of the letter, netizens expressed their rage at the netizens for starting the rumors in the first place. Check out their comments here:
"Why do you live like that?"
"I don't understand why you suddenly lied and spreading rumors about Naeun being a bully. You wanted to ruin her career, right?"
"Why did you spread the rumors?"
"Don't forgive, just sue them."
"Are you crazy? You should be sued for your dumb actions."
"This is so scary. Why are you trying to ruin someone's life?"
"You are pathetic."
On July 22, APRIL's Naeun trended online after rumors of her being a bully started spreading on forums. The netizen, dubbed A, claimed they had gone to the same elementary school as Naeun and that they had been bullied by her for a long time.
After A had shared that they were bullied by Naeun, another netizens claims they had experienced something similar at the hands of the idol. They claimed that they were shy and didn't speak a lot, then Naeun started bullying her to the point they got depressed. They recall that Naeun had pointed a finger at them and called her a handicap and rated how she looked from head to toe.
The two netizens who claimed to have been bullied by her said that whenever they see her on television or hear her vision, they are reminded of the negative experiences they went through.
DSP Media have denied the rumors, saying allegations made against the idol are all false and groundless. They will be taking legal action against anyone who spreads the rumors. The idol's representative has stated that Naeun is shocked by the rumors and is now too scared to leave the house and check social media.
APRIL is scheduled to comeback with "Hello Summer" on July 29. Despite the difficult situation, Naeun is preparing for the comeback and will be proceeding with the comeback and appearance on music shows.
APRIL debuted in 2016 under DSP Media. The group debuted with six members, but in 2015, leader Somin left the group and is now promoting with co-ed group KARD under the same company. In 2016, member Hyunjoo left the group. That same year, two new members were added. The current members of APRIL are: Chaekyung, Chaewon, Naeun, Yena, Rachel, and Jinsol.
