Fans Think Former PRISTIN Members' Group HINAPIA Have Disbanded — Here's Why

Fans of HINAPIA, a group that contains four former PRISTIN members, think the group has secretly disbanded.

Fans have started speculating about the group's disbandment after noticing that the last post on their social media was two months ago, back on June 2, 2020. After that, the group went silent, with no official posts on their social media platforms. The post shows member Gyeongwon in a field of flowers.

Many fans found this odd, especially since two of the members (Eunwoo and Minkyeung) have birthdays in July. A fan had asked Minkyeung during her Instagram live if their company, OSR Entertainment, had greeted her. She said no, they did not.

The last birthday message they posted was for Bada back in May 27.

Another things fans found off is that the girls have not been using the fancafe, which they actively used while promoting as a group. The girls had stopped using the fancafe back in June 9. They also have not talked about HINAPIA at all on their social media accounts, though they are still seen interacting and hanging out with one another.

Additionally the girls had previously reactivated all their personal Instagram accounts, which is usually not allowed for idols.

It was announced back in February 2020 that the girls were aiming to release their sophomore album in the earlier half of 2020 with the hopes of showing a more mature look, but nothing after that was released.

The group debuted in November 2019 and has not had any comebacks, meaning that as of July 2020, they have been a group for almost a year. Fans think that OSR Entertainment is most probably unable to financially provide the girl's a comeback, and it was made even harder due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Smaller groups tend to rely on events and performances for their income, and since they can't perform on stage right now, they cannot earn as much money.

Fans are asking other to buy their debut single "Drip" on iTunes, Amazon Music, and Play Music. They are also asking people to stream the song on Spotify and Apple Music and to stream the music video on YouTube without skipping the ads.

HINAPIA is a group with four former PRISTIN members - Minkyeung (previously known as Roa), Eunwoo, Yebin (previously known as Rena), and Gyeongwon (previously known as Yuha). They also have a fifth member who was not part of PRISTIN named Bada, who was their hidden card. The group debuted in November 2019 under OSR Entertainment.

On the show Video Star, Minkyeung revealed she had recruited the HINAPIA members herself, asking the members with the same dreams as her if they wanted to debut again. She said that she had high hopes for PRISTIN, as they had a successful debut mini-album and even won "Rookie of the Year" at the Mnet Asian Music Awards. Despite the hype of the group, their company Pledis Entertainment mismanaged the group and ended up disbanding them in May 2019.

She said that everything she treasured had fallen apart in an instant and she fell into a depression, preferring to be asleep rather than awake. She confessed to even considering an "eternal slumber". She willed herself to go on and recruited the members and even searched for an agency herself that was willing to take them in.

Fans hope that HINAPIA does not fall into the same fate as PRISTIN did, and that the girls get the comeback they deserve.
