Former idol trainee, Som Hye-in, drew attention after revealing her feelings about breaking up with a same-sex lover.
In an interview with Star News on Sunday, Som Hye-in talked about all her recent issues. She's a singer who drew attention as a cast member of Mnet's "Idol School" in 2017. Since then, Som Hye-in has been actively participating in promotional activities for about three years. The singer had released the singles "Mini Radio" and "Same Here," and had appeared in the music video for Killagram and Beige songs.
In July 2019, Som Hye-in surprised everyone by announcing her relationship with a same-sex lover through her Instagram account. At that time, she proudly confessed her gender identity saying, "I have a beautiful girlfriend," and posted photos she took with her lover, which gathered various reactions from netizens.
Recently, she updated followers of her breakup with the same-sex lover through her Instagram account on the 4th by mentioning that she is going to support her ex-lover even after the breakup. She added that the non-celebrity girlfriend is not like her, so she found it necessary to inform everyone. She also deleted all the photos she took with her ex-lover on her account.
Som Hye-in expressed her feelings right after the breakup. She didn't seem to mind much about the various reactions. "In fact, I thought it wouldn't be too bad. Differences in ideas are various," she said.
She also revealed why she announced her breakup through Instagram.
"I thought it could affect my future (or her future) if the ending (of the breakup) is uncertain because she is not active in entertainment. You may be curious about the breakup coming out on social media, and this may lead to suspicions. I made it public because I didn't want to raise questions about this issue," she explained.
Som Hye-in became a huge topic after voluntarily leaving Mnet's audition program, "Idol School," on its pilot episode in 2017. She then posted an apology on her Instagram account. After a year, she became active on her YouTube channel.
