[Trigger Warning/Content Warning: Death, Violence]
On August 12, ONCEs, the fandom of TWICE, expressed their concern to member Sana after fans found a death threat directed to the idol on V Live.
On the chat board, fans and supporters of the female group and idol noticed that an anti-fan posted a photo of the idol beside a sharp object, along with hate captions, including, "I will kill S***," and "I want to see her suff*r."
As soon as ONCEs learned about the threat, they immediately reported the post and conveyed their love for the Japanese K-pop star on social media platforms, calling out the whole fandom to join their hashtag campaign, using #PROTECTSANA to draw the attention of JYP Entertainment.
In addition to this, fan cafes such as @/Twiceujjang shared email templates to ONCEs for the mass email project at fan@jype.com to help the agency become aware of the current hate speech and threats their artist is getting.
JYP Entertainment is yet to release its official statement about this alarming situation. Fans and netizens think that this should not be taken lightly, and anti-fans should be responsible for their behaviors.
Meanwhile, fans express their disappointment to JYP Entertainment lately, due to its allegedly poor treatment to its artists.
In July, Nayeon allegedly receives death threats as well, worrying fans with their security and safety. In addition to this, fans are also anxious about the members' health, following Jeongyeon's injury.
Not only these, but TWICE members are receiving several malicious comments from netizens as well, including Momo's dating relationship, Mina and Jihyo leaving their soccer team, and their allegedly lip-syncing on their recent online concert.
On the other hand, the K-pop group TWICE meets their fans virtually on August 9, through their first-ever online concert via Beyond Live, "Twice: World in a Day."
They are the first non-SM artists to have an online concert using the platform, following the collaboration between JYP Entertainment and SM Entertainment on establishing an online concerts-only company, the Beyond Live Corporation or BLC.
In their concert, TWICE brought their fans and supporters around the world in a day, through the idea of having 16 countries as their theme and matching their performances and outfits accordingly. Some of the places they traveled to are Seoul, Bangkok, Manila, Singapore, New York, and more, virtually.
Unfortunately, Jeongyeon had to sit down on a chair while performing due to her "health issues." Nevertheless, fans commend the idol for joining the show, as well as doing her best in singing throughout the concert.
Earlier on August 12, JYP Entertainment released its official statement announcing that Jeongyeon won't be attending the 2020 Soribada Best K-Music Awards Show due to her health reasons.
Despite coming to the show incomplete, TWICE is set to showcase their talents and skills this August 13 on the said ceremony, which will be aired via LG U + Idol Live App and Tiktok at 6:40 KST.
