Singer and actress Lee Hyori is drawing attention from netizens after announcing of the suspension of her SNS.
She said on her SNS on the 2nd that although her social media account is a way to reach out to her fans, she simply doesn't want to be disturbed. "It's a place where I always wanted to communicate with fans who are thirsty for news because of lack of activity, but it's not easy to be bothered," she mentioned.
Why is Lee Hyori's reason for deactivation?
With this sudden decision, she had to clear out whether the core reason of it is her recent issue with the Chinese people who bashed her due to her naming a new female group's refund expedition episode with "Mao". They believe that it is an insult for the leader of the Communist Party of China, Mao Zedong, as well as the citizens of the said nation.
Lee Hyori said, "It's not because of the recent events." She added that she is not affected at all.
Chinese citizens asking for an apology
In line with the commotion between the alleged defamation of the singer and actress against the beloved leader of China, the people are demanding for an apology. However, Lee Hyori is yet to comment on it.
Thus, the show already released a statement on the 24th saying that it was never an intention of the specific person involved to defame the leader. Moreover, they are asking for the halting of the misunderstanding formed. They also confirmed that the controversial statement will be removed on the replay of the episode.
