On September 22, 2020, Starmometer revealed their finalists for the "Sexiest Man In The World 2020" are. These finalists ranked within the top 10 out of 200 official nominees and were selected through netizens' likes and comments. Surprisingly, all 10 of the finalists are ethnically Asian, with six of them being K-pop idols. Want to know which idols made the finals? Keep on reading!
6. NCT's Mark
Mark, whose full name is Mark Lee, is one of the six K-pop idols nominated. As of now, he has garnered 0.61% of the votes with 4,705 votes. Mark Lee was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canda, and was raised by South Korean parents. He moved to South Korea in 20112 after passing the SM Global Audition in Canada in 2010. Since then, he debuted in NCT U, NCT 127, and NCT Dream all in 2016. In 2019, he debuted in SuperM.
5. NCT's Lucas
Lucas, whose full name is Wong Yukhei, is another NCT member who made the finalists. He currently has 0.89% of the votes with 6,748 votes. Lucas was born and raised in Sha Tin, Hong Kong to a Thai mother and a Chinese father with Teochew ancestry In 2015, Lucas was scouted by SM Entertainment and signed with the company as a trainee. In 2018, he debuted with NCT U and WayV. In 2019, he debuted wit SuperM.
4. GOT7's Mark
The second Mark on the list! Mark, whose full name is Mark Tuan, is one of the two GOT7 members who made the finalists. Mark was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and is of Taiwanese descent. He is a dual citizen of both America and Taiwan. Mark currently has 1.53% of the votes, with 11,677 votes. Mark was scouted by a JYP Entertainment representative in 2010 and moved to South Korea to train. He debuted with GOT7 in 2014.
3. GOT7's Jackson
Jackson is the second GOT7 member on the list! He was born in Kowloon Tong, British Hong Kong, and raised in Sha Tin District, New Territories. In 2010, Jackson was scouted by a JYP Entertainment representative and was invited to audition. He passed and moved to South Korea to train. He debuted with GOT7 in 2014.
In 2017, Jackson debuted as a soloist in China.
Currently, Jackson has 2.63% of the votes, with 20,025 votes.
2. UNIQ's Wang Yibo
Wang Yibo is more active in China now, but we can't forget that his career first started in South Korea. Wang Yibo was born and raised in Luoyang, Henan, China. He signed as a trainee under Yuehua Entertainment and moved to South Korea to train, even graduating high school in the Hanlim Multi Art School.
In 2014, he debuted as a member of the South Korean-Chinese boy group UNIQ. The group has been on hiatus since 2018.
Wang Yibo currently has 9.39% of the votes, with 71,512 votes.
1. BTS's Suga
Though the list is composed of K-pop idols, Suga is actually the first and only idol who was born and raised in South Korea in the list. Suga was born and raised in Daegu, South Korea. Suga moved to Seoul in 2010, as a high school junior. He trained for three years and debuted with BTS in 2013. Currently, Suga has 32.97% of the votes, with 251,040 votes.
