BLACKPINK's Jisoo Shares Experience in Filming Her Water Scene for 'Lovesick Girls'

Jisoo has revealed what she felt while shooting her solo water scene for their latest single, "Lovesick Girls."

Like the girl group's previous tracks, "Lovesick Girls also gained lots of love and support from BLINKs all over the world as soon as its music video was unveiled on October 2. It showcased a different side of the BLACKPINK members and is even more melodic than their earlier songs. Additionally, the official video displayed more emotions than usual.

One of the dramatic scenes that help viewers feel the song's pain was Jisoo's water scene, which is nearing the end. With weary eyes, tears falling on her cheeks, and a wet look, the female artist has successfully established the mood.

Before the music video was released, BLACKPINK gathered to hold a V LIVE broadcast in which the lead vocalist and visual of the group shared behind-the-scenes details regarding the part where she was in the swimming pool. Jisoo stated that the staff informed her that she has to go into the water. At first, she did not worry about the scene before shooting. She said, "I did not think about the water temperature. I did not think about whether it was hot or cold water."

The singer then commented, "It was so cold." "I was the last person to film a scene. After the break, I had to wait for a long time. I had to shoot other parts at night, and then I went into the water. I was so cold, so it was like that," she added. The vocalist also mentioned that fans might notice that she was frozen in the scene. After hearing this, the other BLACKPINK members complimented Jisoo, saying she looks beautiful in her solo parts.

'Lovesick Girls' is the main single on the K-Pop girl group's very first Korean studio album called 'The Album.' BLACKPINK members Jennie and Jisoo participated in writing the lyrics of this song. The latest release debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in the United States and the Album Chart. This makes BLACKPINK the highest-charting Korean girl group on the said charts. Moreover, 'The Album' was able to sell 590,000 copies in only one day following its release, setting a first-week album sales record for a Korean female act.

As of October 21, the music video of 'Lovesick Girls' has already reached more than 180 million views. The quartet has also won five trophies at different music show awards in Korea with their newest single. Their recent victory was on SBS's 'Inkigayo,' where they got a total of 10,239. In the said show, Park Jin Young and Sunmi's "When We Disco took second place with 3963 and Jessi's "NUNU NANA came third with 3500.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK guested on the variety show 'Knowing Brothers' on October 17 to promote their latest track. This marks the girls' first appearance in the said program after more than three years since August 5, 2017. The girl group performed their latest singles 'How You Like That' and 'Pretty Savage.'
