Netizens recently reminisce about Taeyeon and Jessica's live singing eight years ago.
On Nov. 5, one netizen uploaded a video on an online community showing Girls' Generation's live stage at the 26th Golden Disk Awards, which took place last January 11, 2012, at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan. After receiving the 'Song of the Year' (Digital Daesang) award for their track 'The Boys,' the K-Pop girl group performed their winning piece for the encore of the said show. Many netizens were astounded by Girls' Generation's singing, especially Taeyeon and Jessica's live singing since they were able to hit the high notes with stable pitch.
The netizen who posted the video mentioned that from 3 minutes and 27 seconds, the two singers sang the high notes impressively. Also, the netizen stated that Jessica and Taeyeon didn't have in-ear pieces, hence there was a delay in beats but they were still able to give a great stage.
Other netizens also praised the other Girls' Generation members as they also delivered an excellent performance in spite of having no in-ear equipment.
Some of the netizens left comments like:
"I think Jessica was rated badly because her image is not good, but when she was active as a Girls' Generation member, she comes second in singing after Taeyeon. Well done, it has been a while since I've heard this song."
"Jessica has a unique voice and she's so good at singing."
"After all, they will not be a legend for no reason. All members are skillful."
"Taeyeon is absolutely the best singer. OMG! Her high notes are perfect."
"Wow! Their living singing is exceptional; despite the delay, it's still great."
"Taeyeon's singing drives me crazy."
"I Used to love Jessica's voice before."
"All members are skilled at singing. That's why they're the legendary girl group."
Kim Taeyeon and Jessica Jung are both the main vocalists of Girls' Generation, and the two members are known for their remarkable singing skills. SONE (Girls' Generation's official fan club) even created Jessica and Taeyeon's compilations singing high notes, which they can hit even during live performances.
Jessica signed with SM Entertainment in 2000, making her the first member of a future girl group to train in the said label. Meanwhile, Taeyeon joined the agency in 2004. Then, in 2007, they were both chosen as members of a nine-member girl group, Girls' Generation, along with seven other girls, namely Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, and Seohyun.
The female act made its official debut in South Korea on August 5, 2007, with the track titled 'Into the New World.' Girls' Generation also debuted in Japan in August 2011 by launching a DVD called 'New Beginning of Girls' Generation.'
It has been six years since former Girls' Generation's Jessica left the group due to conflicts between her and the group's schedules. Her last release as a member of the girl group was their fourth Korean extended play called 'Mr. Mr,' which was launched in February 2014.
Taeyeon made her solo debut with the release of her mini-album entitled 'I' on October 7, 2015. Jessica also re-debuted as a solo artist on May 17, 2016, with the mini-album 'With Love, J.
