The UNIQ and former X1 member, Cho Seungyoun, is now taking his path as a solo artist.
After five months since the promotion of his debut album, "Equal," Seungyoun or also known as Woodz (LUIZY) made his return to the music industry with an engaging and bright track, "BUMP BUMP!"
On Tuesday, the male idol released his second mini-album "WOOPS!" together with its title song, "BUMP BUMP." The title track is a piece of retro-pop rock music with an addictive sound and chorus that will immediately capture its listeners, particularly K-pop fans.
Simultaneously, the album was released on various music sites, and a music video for "BUMP BUMP" was also uploaded on YouTube at 6 pm KST. The MV caught fans' attention as it featured a new and quirky side of the idol. It also reflects the emotions you have when you're riding bump cars in an amusement park - lovers continue to love while colliding and fighting.
Aside from the main track, Cho Seungyoun amazed music enthusiasts and netizens, with the high-quality sound of the side tracks including "Trigger," "On My Own," "Thanks to," "Sweater," and "Tide."
Surprisingly, the six-tracked album is made with love and effort by Woodz himself. The idol participated in every song production and composition while expanding his spectrum through a new musical attempt.
Meanwhile, before its release, Cho Seungyoun, held a live broadcast in commemoration of his comeback via YouTube. During the online show, the male idol shared a background story about his album, giving credits and acknowledgment to the people who helped him complete the album.
In addition to this, Woodz talked about the highlight of the album saying, "when I made this album, I imagined that I was making a fictional movie. I made the songs like writing scenarios. As the album flows one by one, the protagonist's mental change is visible. I think that if you listen to it and imagine the scenarios the song conveys, it will become a more interesting album." When asked "what is his favorite song aside from the main track?," the idol answered "'Trigger,' cause it exudes a countryside vibe."
In comparison to his debut album, Cho is confident that "WOOPS!" has its edge, as he made sure that the lyrics are heartfelt and the melodies sound better!
Regarding his new hair which turned into blonde, Seungyoun confessed that he is not a big fan of hair dyes. His hair is also damaged so he can't manage it well. He even thinks he doesn't look good with it. However, fans seem to like his new do.
Moving on, Woodz also talked about how he wants to improve more. During his participation in MNET's "Produce X 101," he gained the title "All-rounder" for being able to rap, dance, and sing - a multi-packaged indeed! Cho said that he loved being called an "all-rounder," but it's quite a burden for him since he's always worried if can meet the expectations of his fans. The idol also stated how he continues to improve because of this.
Lastly, when asked about his goals, he revealed, "If it's a part I'm not doing yet, it's acting. I don't have any desire to act yet, but I think that in the future, it'll be something I might do as a challenge."
Woodz is also expectant to take on his first win and to have a trophy from an award ceremony, but he is not pressuring himself.
