BTS Wins Trophies at AMAs 2020

The global K-pop band BTS broke another record as they won for three consecutive years at the 2020's "American Music Awards," also known as AMAs. The world-renown artists received new trophies after winning the title for "Favorite Duo or Group" for the pop/rock genre and achieved triple crown for "Favorite Social Artist" following wins for three consecutive years.

BTS and American Music Awards (AMAs 2020)

The ceremony, which was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles at 9 a.m. KST on Friday, Nov. 22, announced BTS as "Favorite Duo/Group (pop/rock)," beating Jonas Brothers and Maroon 5. They were also hailed as the "Favorite Social Artist," winning over Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, EXO, and NCT 127.

BTS has been nominated in the category for the third consecutive year since winning the "Favorite Social Artist" award at the 2018 American Music Awards.

During AMAs 2019, the group also won in all categories they were nominated in, including "Favorite Social Artist," "Pop/Rock Favorite Duo/Group," and "Tour of the Year." Due to these successes, BTS became the first Korean band in history, winning an award/awards for the third time.

The American Music Awards is a prestigious American pop music awards ceremony that began in 1974. Along with the Grammy and the Billboard Music Awards, it is considered one of the top three major music awards shows in the United States.

The AMA select winners by fan vote, so this proves that these artists' music and influence have established strong and stable fandoms. On the other hand, this year's "Artist of the Year" award was given to international superstar Taylor Swift, while "New Artist of the Year" went to Doja Cat.

BTS's 'BE' Dominates Billboard's Poll; End of 'Dynamite' Era

On Monday, Billboard announced BTS's latest album, "BE" as their favorite music released in the prior weeks. The poll was published by Billboard on Nov. 20, winning over numerous artists, including Shawn Mendez and Justin Bieber's "Monster," Miley Cyrus, and Dua Lipa's "Prisoner," by 47% votes.

"Life Goes On" also topped the World's New Album Chart, as BTS mark the finale of their disco-pop track "Dynamite." The latter is a full English song by BTS, which topped the Billboard's "Hot 100."

The eight-membered group also boasted their visuals where they wore a white shirt and black suit pants, which perfectly matched their performance. The empty concert hall was filled with purple, making it more special for BTS and its fandom, ARMY. Meanwhile, even though the members' clothes were in contrast to "Life Goes On," BTS still showed their excitement with a bright look.

On Nov. 20, BTS released their comeback album, "Be" (Deluxe Edition), and its title track, "Life Goes On," which aims to extend comfort and the message of "life must go on." However, one is faced with an unfavorable situation despite wanting to run away or stop.
