Mnet Announces Next Lineup of K-Pop Groups for 2020 MAMA

The 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards (2020 MAMA) has revealed the additional K-Pop groups who will be attending this year's event.

On Nov. 30, Mnet uploaded a series of photos, unveiling seven more groups that have been added to its lineup of performing artists. In particular, these are OH MY GIRL, The Boyz, Stray Kids, (G)I-DLE, ATEEZ, CRAVITY, and the rookie boy group ENHYPEN.

Last Nov. 10, it was announced that K-Pop groups SEVENTEEN, TWICE, NCT, and IZ*ONE were confirmed to be present at 2020 MAMA. Then, on Nov. 17, GOT7, MONSTA X, TXT, MAMAMOO, and another rookie group, TREASURE, will also be performing at the said event.

BTS, who has been putting on numerous outstanding performances at the past Mnet Asian Music Awards, will again give fans a legendary stage at 2020 MAMA. CJ ENM also stated that BTS will be performing the songs from their new album "BE."

Prior to the next lineup of performing artists, Mnet also shared a video of GOT7 for some spoilers. The concept of this year's MAMA is "NEW-TOPIA," and from the word, GOT7 chose the letter "I," which according to the boy band stands for "impactful stage" that fans can expect at 2020 MAMA.

Additionally, GOT7 members Jinyoung, Yugyeom, and Youngjae gave motion spoilers for their performance at the event.

Other than that, Mnet also posted a video of TOMORROW X TOGETHER, reminiscing the time when they won the "Best New Male Artist" award last year. The boy group also introduced and gave little details about the Best New Artist nominees for this year's MAMA.

Furthermore, it was revealed that Song Joong Ki will be hosting the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards. This will be his fourth time as a host at the said ceremony. He previously hosted in 2012, 2017, and 2018. This marks his first time returning as an MC after two years.

2020 MAMA is set to happen on Dec. 6 in Korea and be held in an "untact" (non-face-to-face contact) manner for the first time in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines. This year's concept is "NEW-TOPIA" and according to MAMA, through this year's awards ceremony, fans from around the world will become one, and that they will be able to "feel the power of music and find the 'NEW-TOPIA' that they have dreamed of."

The online voting, which takes place on 2020 MAMA's official website, has started on Oct. 29 and will end on Dec. 5 midnight KST. Apart from voting on the site, fans from across the globe can also vote through Twitter by using official hashtags for their favorite artists, which they want to win the "Worldwide Fans' Choice" award.

The criteria for the final winners and the nominees were already unveiled. Mnet also said that to be qualified for the awards, the music must have been launched between Oct. 24, 2019, and Oct. 28 of this year.

The 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards ceremony is being organized by CJ E&M and will be broadcast through its television music channel Mnet. This year's event is the 22nd in the show's history.
