Korean multinational boy group PENTAGON has announced its plan to meet their fans worldwide with an online concert, "WE L:VE," set for a December 13 schedule.
The nine-member boy group was originally set to hold their first online concert last November 29, at 3:00 PM KST. However, a day before the concert (November 28), Pentagon announced that the concert will be postponed through its social media accounts. Member Yeo One has voluntarily undergone COVID-19 testing after learning that he was in the same place as a confirmed positive case.
In a press statement, PENTAGON's talent agency Cube Entertainment said: "We regret to inform you that 2020 PENTAGON ONLINE CONCERT [WE L:VE] which was meant to be held on November 28th, 2020 at 3PM(KST) has been postponed for emergency reasons." Cube also noted that "To prevent any unexpected circumstances, the rest of Pentagon members decided to get tested for COVID-19 and self-quarantine themselves," before apologizing to the people waiting for the event.
"WE L:VE" is an extension of the group's most recent release, their tenth EP "WE:TH." Released digitally and physically last October 12, "WE:TH" debuted and charted at the fourth spot on the Korean Gaon Album Charts.
The recent EP marks the group as an eight-member act since Jinho is currently serving in the South Korean Army as a part of his mandatory service. Following Jinho is the group's leader, Hui, set to enlist for his mandatory service. Cube said in another statement, "Hui will do his best in his all activities as a member of PENTAGON until his enlistment, post his self-quarantine. Please give him a lot of love and support."
With "WE:L:VE," PENTAGON's fans - formally known as UNIVERSE - can expect an incredible music experience never seen before, showcasing the group's signature musical identity and energetic choreographies.
Ticket and packages for the PENTAGON "WE L:VE" starts from 39,000 Korean Won (KRW, about 36 USD) to 110,000 KRW (101.5 USD). Tickets are available from online e-commerce portal Global Interpark - from Ticket Only, Special Package, and Meet and Call offers.
About PENTAGON
The South Korean boy group was formed by Cube Entertainment back in 2016, first introduced with a trailer titled "Come into the World." PENTAGON members then appeared in Mnet's reality program "Pentagon Maker," which explains the group's name as a five-point composition an idol should possess - vocals/ rapping, dancing, teamwork, talent, and mind. By the end of "Pentagon Maker," seven members were announced: Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, Yeo One, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok.
On October 10, 2016, PENTAGON officially debuted, including three members previously eliminated from the "Pentagon Maker," E'Dawn, Shinwon, and Yan An. With their debut EP "Pentagon," the group immediately proved to be a commercial success - peaking at number seven on the Korean Gaon Charts, it also stayed in the top 10 of Japan's Tower Record Kpop charts.
By November 14, 2018, Cube Entertainment confirmed member E'Dawn's departure from PENTAGON and from Cube. E'Dawn's termination followed shortly after former Wonder Girls member Hyuna announced their relationship.
