On Monday, Dec. 7, Forbes interviewed the YG Entertainment girl group, BLACKPINK. There, Forbes dubbed them as "the biggest girl group in the world." Keep on reading to learn more!
Forbes mentions that in the past, the title of "the biggest girl group in the world" has gone to groups like The Supremes, Destiny's Child, the Pussycat Dolls, and even Fifth Harmony. Now, however, the crown belongs to BLACKPINK. And according to Forbes, there is no point questioning their supremacy.
The girl group is helping the Hallyu Wave take over worldwide while also making a name for themselves. The girl group recently dropped their first-ever full-length studio album, "THE ALBUM," which topped numerous iTunes charts worldwide. "THE ALBUM" had songs with big-name Western features, with Selena Gomez featuring on "Ice Cream" and Cardi B featuring on "Bet You Wanna." Before the album's release, they collaborated with Lady Gaga for "Sour Candy." All three songs are some of their biggest hits currently.
During the interview, the girls of BLACKPINK were asked how it felt to be called "the biggest girl group in the world." Did they appreciate the label? Do they find it intimidating?
Jennie answered for the group, saying that they are very honored to be dubbed "the biggest girl group in the world," as it is something that they always wanted to be. It is hard to believe that they are living in a reality where people call them that. Jennie said that the girls feel both a heavyweight of responsibility and pressure.
Jennie goes on to say that even though it is a big title and that they receive so much love and support, BLACKPINK wants to keep on doing what they are doing. They want to be a group with a positive influence and a group that continues to make good music for their fans. Jennie ends by saying that they are very grateful for how the world sees them and gives them motivation.
2020 has been both a fantastic and difficult year for everyone, even BLACKPINK. To end the year of a high note, BLACKPINK is currently preparing for an online-only YouTube-exclusive concert titled "THE SHOW." The concert is a must-see for all of their fans. The concert is also expected to be a massive moneymaker for BLACKPINK, YG Entertainment, and YouTube. It is the group's first-ever online concert.

Jennie has stated that "THE SHOW" is the group's Christmas gift for everyone who struggled and worked hard this year. Though it is an online concert, Jennie stated that they would do their best to express everything they want to show to the fullest. The concert will have the girls trying new things to take advantage of having an online concert fully.
Lisa has stated that there will be a performance that they will be showing their audiences for the first time. After all, the girls have only performed "Lovesick Girls" and "Pretty Savage" on music shows and have not had the chance to perform other songs from "THE ALBUM." Lisa asks fans to look out for all their stages, especially those they have never performed before.
