On Monday, Dec. 7, Rolling Stone released their "The 50 Best Songs of 2020" list. In the article, Rolling Stones notes that 2020 saw rising artists shoot to stardom, such as Megan Thee Stallion, Bad Bunny, and the current K-pop kings, BTS. 2020 was also a year of genre resurgences and genre reinventions. To commemorate these amazing songs, Rolling Stone's listed them and gave them this huge title.

BLACKPINK sits on the list at number thirteen. The song that Rolling Stones selected is "Ice Cream (Feat. Selena Gomez)." The song was acknowledged for having the Korean girl group powerhouses hit big on the American airwaves, with help from Selena Gomez and co-writer Ariana Grande. The song is catchy and addictive with its almost playground-like chants. According to Rolling Stone, the song is an "ice cream truck's worth of sexually charged dessert metaphors." It sits in the ranks of "I Want Candy" and "Pour Some Sugar on Me."

"Ice Cream (Feat. Selena Gomez)" was released on Aug. 28 as the second pre-release single for BLACKPINK's first full-length studio album, "THE ALBUM." The song is said to be a fusion of electropop, bubblegum pop, and trap. The lyrics of the song mainly consists of ice cream-centered innuendos.

The song peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it BLACKPINK's first single to chart within the top twenty. It subsequently became the longest-charting song by a female Korean girl group. "Ice Cream (Feat. Selena Gomez)" peaked within the top 10 in Singapore, Hungary, and South Korea. It also entered the top 40 in 15 other countries.
