On Saturday, Dec. 12, the Korean Brand Research Institute dropped their brand reputation rankings for boy groups in December. See who rose above the ranks and is considered one of South Korea's top boy groups here.
The Korean Brand Research Institute measured over 60,938 pieces of data concerning 158 boy groups from Nov. 12 to Dec. 12 to analyze consumer behavior. The data measures the community participation index, media index, communication index, and community reception index concerning numerous boy groups. All of these are consolidated together to create an overall brand reputation index.
The brand reputation rankings help determine consumers' online habits and what impacts brand consumption. Analyzing the brand reputation can help figure out the positive and negative influences of boy group to the public, the media's interest in them, and a consumers' interest and communication volume. The brand reputation rankings also check to see if a group associated with a brand helps boost sales among consumers.
Sitting in the first place is BTS (RM, Suga, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) with a brand reputation index of 23,659,001. The group has a participation index of 5,463,864, a media index of 5,827,470, a communication index of 5,983,919, and a community index of 6,383,748. Compared with their brand reputation index of 8,585,929 in November, their index rose by 175.3%.
Second place is NCT (Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Ten, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, Jisung, Lucas, Jungwoo, Kun, Xiaojun, Hendery, Yangyang, Shotaro, and Sungchan) with a brand reputation index of 5,341,172. The group has a participation index of 505,295, a media index of 1,576,013, a communication index of 1,442,472, and a community index of 1,576,387. Compared with their brand reputation index of 5,846,061 in November, their index fell by 8.64%.
The PLEDIS Entertainment boy group SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino) sits at third place with a brand reputation index of 3,602,368. The group has a participation index of 486,112, a media index of 634,314, a communication index of 1,196,261, and a community index of 1,282,682. Compared with their brand reputation index of 1,894,891 in November, their index rose by 68.97%.
Fifth place goes to BTOB (Eunkwang, Minhyuk, Changseob, Hyungsik, Peniel, Ilhoon, and Sungjae) with a brand reputation index of 2,640,910. The group has a participation index of 576,400, a media index of 578,070, a communication index of 978,117, and a community index of 508,325. Compared with their brand reputation index of 1,145,522 in November, their index rose by 130.54%.
