On Sunday, Dec. 13, The Korean Brand Research Institute released their brand reputation rankings for K-pop girl groups in the month of December. See who made it to the top of the rankings below!
The Korean Brand Research Institute analyzed 48,295,989 pieces of data released from Nov. 13 to Dec. 13 to determine the brand reputation index of numerous girl groups. The Institute separates their data into numerous indexes - community participation index, media index, communication index, and community reception index. Compared with the 45,569,915 pieces of analyzed data last month, it increased by 6.20%.
The brand reputation rankings is an index created through big data analysis and discovers how consumers' online habits make an impact on brand consumption. The girl group brand reputation rankings measure both the positive and negative influences of girl groups, the media's interest in them, consumers' interest, and their communication volume. Over 100 brand reputation experts and their input is also taken into account.
THE TOP 5 GIRL GROUPS
The YG Entertainment girl group BLACKPINK (Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, Lisa) ranks in first place with a brand reputation index of 4,786,776. The girl group has a participation index of 460,020, a media index of 1,163,480, a communication index of 1,216,239, and a community reception index of 1,247,034. Compared with BLACKPINK's brand reputation index in November of 5,296,467, their index fell by 9.61%.
At second place, we have TWICE (Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, andTzuyu) with a brand reputation index of 4,234,719. TWICE has a participation index of 368,628, a media index of 1,027,760, a communication index of 1,710,503, and a community reception index of 1,247,828. Compared with their brand reputation index in November of 5,479,720, their index fell by 22.72%.
The SM Entertainment rookie girl group Aespa (Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning) ranks in second place with a brand reputation index of 3,820,383. The newbie girl group has a participation index of 1,637,916, a media index of 597,400, a communication index of 818,067, and a community reception index of 767,000. This is the first time Aespa has ever been included in the girl group brand reputation rankings. Congratulations, Aespa!
At fourth place, we have the South Korean-Japanese girl group IZ*ONE (Kwon Eunbi, Miyawaki Sakura, Kang Hyewon, Choi Yena, Lee Chaeyeon, Kim Chaewon, Kim MInju, Yabuki Nako, Honda Hitomi, Jo Yuri, Ahn Yujin, and Jang Wonyoung) with a brand reputation index of 3,365,351. The girl group has a participation index of 959,412, a media index of 812,000, a communication index of 859,351, and a community reception index of 734,347. Compared with IZ*ONE's brand reputation index in November of 2,397,807, their index rose by 44.55%.
Lastly, at sixth place, we have Oh My Girl (Hyojung, Mimi, YooA, Seunghee, Jiho, Binnie, and Arin) with a brand reputation index of 2,712,338. Oh My Girl has a participation index of 277,576, a media index of 741,240, a communication index of 908,396, and a community reception index of 785,239. Compared with their brand reputation index in November of 2,397,807, their index rose by 13.12%.
