As a year-end list, PopCrush, pop music and news media outlet, selected 25 albums released by global artists this year, who helped K-pop fans and music enthusiasts to get through these trying times of 2020.
Among the star-studded list of international singers and artists, few K-pop groups entered the list, including BLACKPINK, TWICE, MONSTA X, and BTS.
In the article, four of the most popular groups in the K-pop scene right now have been chosen due to their outstanding performances that keep everyone entertained and moving despite the pandemic.
BLACKPINK, TWICE, BTS, and MONSTA X are K-pop groups with " Best Album 2020"
BLACKPINK, which is deemed as the "Biggest Girl Group in the World," is on the list. In October, the quartet released their first-ever full-length album, titled "THE ALBUM."
In the article, PopCrush noted the specific track inside the album as well that let the individual members shine.
According to the media, Rose's vocal abilities were highlighted in "Bet You Wanna" while Jisoo owned the track, "Love to Hate Me."
As for Jisoo and Lisa, the group's rapper showcased their skills in "Lovesick Girls."
Moving on, TWICE who is considered to be "Asia's No. 1 Girl Group," was also chosen, introducing the girl group's album, "More & More." This is special not only to the members but as well as to fans as all nine members were able to promote together, after Mina's hiatus and prior to Jeongyeon's break.
The group's album gave vibrant colors to the summer, releasing their lead track, "More and More."
Next is BTS's "Map of the Soul: 7," which is a significant release for their fandom ARMY and BTS as it commemorates their seventh year anniversary.
The album is one of the most anticipated releases of the year amidst the coronavirus and non-contact K-pop era, and it came out successfully.
Lastly, the global group MONSTA X was also chosen by PopCrush for the list. They highlighted how MONSTA X refrained from doing masculine and bass-thumping music but rather showed their soft and sensual side through its first English album, "All About Luv."
PopCrush also praised MONSTA X on how they stick to their concept, introducing "Love U" that talks about having a crush, "Got My Number, "for booty calls, and "You Can't Hold My Heart" which tells the aspect of falling out of love.
Before this, MONSTA X's "All About Luv" was named the " BEST ALBUMS OF 2020" by PopCrush in June, and was selected as the best album of the year in December, realizing its high popularity in the U.S

Aside from BLACKPINK, TWICE, BTS, and MONSTA X, huge pop artists were also included in the list, including Lady Gaga's "CHROMATICA," in which one of the tracks released featured the K-pop group BLACKPINK.
"Sour Candy" marked the first music activity of the girl group following a year of hiatus.
