The 2020 SBS Entertainment Awards is confirmed to happen on Dec. 19. The national South Korean television and radio network previously revealed that comedian Shin Dong Yeop, "My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho" actor Lee Seung Gi, and ASTRO and "True Beauty" star Cha Eun Woo will be hosting the prestigious event.
With the "Hello Counselor" star as one of the program's masters of ceremony, viewers can expect a fun and amusing show. The 2020 SBS Entertainment Awards would be held as an "on-tact" stage in line with the celebration of the company's 30th founding anniversary.
Most, if not all, fans are aware that Shin Dong Yup currently hosts the "My Ugly Duckling" and "Animal Farm" variety shows. The comedian became a household name after he appeared in an MBC sitcom called "Guys n Girls" and SBS's "Happy Saturday" variety program. In 2016, he received the SBS Entertainment Awards grand prize.
ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo, for his part, stars on another SBS variety show called "Master in the House." The South Korean star has proven his exemplary hosting skills at several year-end award ceremonies, such as KBS Song Festival, Dream Concert, and MBC Gayo Daejejeon. He is, currently, a cast member of Naver's "Handsome Tigers."
Moreover, Lee Seung Gi has vast experience in hosting. As a matter of fact, the 33-year-old star was tapped to host the SBS variety show titled "Master in the House." He was even announced to become the presenter on "Produce 28" in 2018 and, later, joined "Busted!" Season 2. He even got the Grand Award (Daesang) during the 2018 SBS Entertainment Awards.
In 2019, the "Gu Family Book" actor was featured in Netflix's travel show called "Twogether" with Jasper Liu. He even joined the cast of "Little Forest," which is a healing variety program for kids. Lee Seung Gi, also, appeared in "The Project."
The 2020 SBS Entertainment Awards would, reportedly, have special contents that be released via "MMTG" and "Show!terview with Jessi" on Dec. 15 and Dec. 17, just days before the main event.
SBS has yet to announce the complete list of this year's nominees. Last year, Yoo Jae Suk of "Running Man" took home the Grand Award (Daesang) while Baek Jong Won of "Delicious Rest Stop" and "Baek Jong Won's Alley Restaurant" won the Lifetime Achievement Award.
