On Monday, Dec. 14, IU uploaded a video titled "Jieun in the Perspective of Hoon". Jieun is IU's actual birthday name, while Hoon references IU's younger brother, Lee Jonghoon, who also appeared in her video the week prior. Her brother acted as an interviewer in this video. His face was hidden from viewers with a purple mask that reads "Bro".

The video is a continuation of their interview last week. The two siblings sat across each other and had a sibling heart-to-heart talk. IU's brother confessed that he often feels worried for his sister, especially when he hears what people have to say about his sister or whenever he sees comments about her on the internet. Though he knows his sister is a strong person, he still often worries about her.

"You work really hard, and there are times where I wonder if you are really happy like that," Hoon continues. "I want to know what your standard of happiness is and I want to know if you are happy with yourself now."

IU paused to give his words some thought, taking in what he has to say before replying, saying that she feels happy when nothing is happening. The soloist explained what she meant, as it could be confusing. She revealed that she believes there is a thing called expressionless happiness. If there is nothing that is making her upset or mad, then she thinks that is happiness.

IU confessed that she finds it difficult to give an answer concerning happiness, as she feels like when she says she is happy, she cannot look tired or her face should not be expressionless. Because of this, it is tough for her to say that she is happy around people that do not know her well.

IU continued to share her honest thoughts, saying, "Of course, there are still sad days, the days where everything is hard, but that does not mean that I am not a happy person. I still like myself and I still cherish who I am. I think I can say that I am happy because I like living as myself and want to continue living as myself in the future."

Back on Nov. 26, IU opened up about her insomnia in an interview with GQ Korea. During the interview, the soloist revealed that there was a time in her life where she became swamped, as she had to practically always be on standby to be ready for work the moment she woke up. As it is harder to wake up when in a deep sleep, IU's body naturally became on guard against falling into a deep sleep.

Despite struggling with insomnia, IU has reassured fans that she is doing much better now. When IU is not busy promoting an album, IU revealed that she tries to wake up by 9 AM or 10 AM. She also tries to get everything that needs to be done in the morning and goes to bed by midnight. In the past, IU used to wake up at around 2 PM, which shows quite an improvement for the soloist.
