2020 K-Pop Radar Results: BTS Earns Most YouTube Badges This Year

BTS is, without a doubt, is the most successful South Korean boy band of all time. One proof of that is the fact that they acquired the most badges this year, as per the K-Pop Radar statistics.

BTS Dominated and Increased Badges Count This Year

V, Jungkook, Jimin, Suga, Jin, RM, and J-Hope have proven their superstar status again when they received the most badges this year. BTS got a total of 15 badges for reaching multiple milestones on social media. The group received the 21 billion views badge, 180 million views badge, and 270 million views badge.

The Bangtan Boys' "DNA" music video, also, surpassed that 1 billion views this year, making them the very first K-Pop boy band to achieve the feat. BTS even got badges for "FAKE LOVE" with 800 million views, "IDOL" and "MIC Drop" with 700 million views, "Dynamite" with 600 million views, "Save ME" with 500 million views, "Not Today" with 400 million views, "Spring Day" with 300 million views, "ON" and "Black Swan" with 200 million views, and "IDOL" and "Life Goes On" with 100 million views.

Even J-Hope's "Chicken Noodle Soup" video, which currently has 217 million views, and Suga's "Agust D" and "Daechwita," have received their respective badges this year.

All in all, BTS has a total of 18 combined badges for the year 2020, which is clearly higher than what they got in 2019.

BTS's "Dynamite" is proclaimed as the 2020 Most Viewed K-Pop Music Video in 24 Hours with 101.1 million views, followed by BLACKPINK's "How You Like That?" (86.3 million) and "Ice Cream" (79 million). However, BLACKPINK's "How You Like That?" music video was named as 2020 Most Viewed K-Pop Music Video, with "Dynamite" (660 million) and "Ice Cream" (416 million) taking the second and third spots, respectively.

Meanwhile, South China Morning Post named "Map of the Soul: 7" as one of the top K-Pop albums this year. Most, if not all fans, are aware that BTS released the said EP in line with their seventh-anniversary celebration.

V, Jungkook, Jimin, Suga, Jin, RM, and J-Hope admitted that things did not go as planned. However, they are all happy that they were able to produce it, especially during these trying times when people need hope and comfort.

Aside from the BTS album, the media outlet also included "-77.82X-78.29 by Everglow," "Da Capo by April, "Dystopia: The Tree of Language" by Dreamcatcher, "Eyes Wide Open" by TWICE, "Fatal Love" by MONSTA X, "In Life" by Stray Kids, "Minisode1: Blue Hour" by Tomorrow X Together (TXT), "Monster" by Red Velvet's Irene and Seulgi, among others.

Recalling, "Map of the Soul: 7" was released on Feb. 21, 2020, as a follow up for BTS's 2019 "Map of the Soul: Persona." The boys collaborated with Sia, Ed Sheeran, Troye Sivan, and Halsey for the album, which was named as Album of the Year during the 2020 Genie Music Award, 2020 Melon Music Awards, 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards, and 2020 People's Choice Awards.

"Map of the Soul: 7," also, dominated the album charts in many countries around the globe, including the United Kingdom, Spain, New Zealand, Japan, Ireland, Germany, France, and Australia.
