Things are not going very well with Goo Hara's family. As a matter of fact, the brother of the late South Korean singer-actress lambasted their own mother as he could no longer tolerate her requests for inheritance.
Goo Hara's brother lambasts his own mom for going after K-Pop idol's inheritance
Gu Ho In said, during an appearance on a KBS2 show, that he never spoke with his biological mother, adding that he could not remember a thing about her since they left him and Goo Hara at a very young age. He then revealed that his mom reached out to his aunt, who was the one who raised them growing up, after learning about the "How About Me" singer's death.
The elder brother of Goo Hara claimed that his mother appeared at the K-Pop idol's funeral, wearing her mourning clothes. Gu Ho In then stated he could not take the fact that his mom just showed up after his sister's untimely demise. More so, when his mom, allegedly, started asking for Goo Hara's money and inheritance.
Attorney Noh Jong Eon, an inheritance lawyer, said that there is a big problem when an immediate relative, who stopped functioning as a family, claims property gains and inheritance. While the civil law of the Republic of Korea mandates that blood-related individuals have the right to ask and receive an inheritance, that should not be the case for Goo Hara's family since the mother has left her children for more than 20 years and even failed to communicate to them while the "Magic of Love" hitmaker was still alive.
Because of this, the administrative officer at the Ministry of Justice's Legal Deliberation Office said that it would be reviewing the amendment or establishment of the present civil law system, which excludes the right of inheritance under some valid reasons. He added that the right to inherit should be reconsidered in this case, especially since the mother violated her parenting obligations.
To recall, the National Assembly approved the "Goo Hara Act" earlier this month. If not all, fans are aware that the petition was launched after the mother of the late singer-actress claim 50% of the inheritance. Because of this, Goo Ho In has been started a legal battle against his mom and pushed for the act's passage, which restricts the parents from getting an inheritance from their children if they failed to execute their parental duties.
Fans shocked when Goo Hara's Twitter account shared a cryptic message
Meanwhile, avid followers of Goo Hara on Twitter were startled when they read a message posted on the "La La La" singer's official account on the said social media platform. "123, 9ld9c," the post read.
Many were clueless as to how the post went through the news feed when, in fact, Goo Hara has died already. While some netizens have tried cracking what could the odd message mean, a few fans were concerned that a hacker could be using the K-Pop idol's account. They, then, asked the hacker to leave Goo Hara's account alone as a sign of respect to the late "City Hunter" actress.
Goo Hara's camp has yet to address this issue.
