There is no denying that BTS and EXO are among the most popular K-pop acts there is today. So, it comes as no surprise that some of its members have aced the individual boy group member brand value rankings in December 2020, which was released on Saturday, Dec. 19.
BTS members dominate brand value ranking in December
The Korea Institute of Corporate Reputation named the Top 10 male K-pop idols with the highest brand value this month. It gathered and analyzed data of more than 650 artists in community activity, communication, media activity, and consumer participation between Nov. 19 and Dec. 19, 2020.
BTS Jimin took the first spot after earning a total of 7,180,413 points for December. The "Dynamite" singer was, then, followed by BTS J-Hope, who garnered 6,372,532 points, and EXO member Kai, who got 5,704,162 points this month.
Other BTS members, also, made it to this month's list. V, who got 5,552,753 points, placed fourth, and Jungkook, who amassed a total of 5,305,329 points, nabbed the fifth spot. RM (5,042,709), Jin (4,816,503), and Suga (4,257,158) then followed in the sixth, seventh and eighth spots, respectively.
ASTRO member Cha Eun Woo, who took the ninth spot, got a total of 3,777,290 points. Super Junior member Heechul, on the other hand, completed the Top 10 list with a total of 2,940,687 points.
This is not the first time BTS Jimin topped the list. In fact, in November, the "Life Goes On" singer got the highest rank, beating ASTRO Moonbin, NCT Jaehyun, BTS V, and ASTRO Chae Eun Woo, rounded up the Top 5. EXO Kai, BTS Jungkook, BTS RM, BTS Jin, and BTS Suga were also part of the 10 Male K-Pop idols with the highest points.
BTS members reveal their New Year's wishes
BTS graced the recently concluded 2020 KBS Song Festival. V, Jungkook, Jimin, J-Hope, Jin, and RM looked so stunning in their outfits when they walked on the red carpet. While many fans were pleased to see "Boy with Luv" singers during the virtual event, some are saddened that Suga could not attend as he still recovers from his shoulder injury.
At one point, the host asked the BTS members about their wishes for the upcoming New Year. J-Hope was quick to answer that he wishes that the COVID-19 pandemic would finally end. The "MIC Drop" singer added he wants to hold an in-person concert so the group can meet and greet their avid followers again.
Jin agreed to J-Hope's ideas and stated he is really excited to meet and spend time with ARMYS again. BTS Jimin, on the other hand, wants Suga to recover from his shoulder surgery so the group can be complete again. RM then chimed in and revealed that Suga has been working doing really well in his physical therapy sessions.
V, Jungkook, Jimin, J-Hope, Jin, and RM performed their popular hits "I Need You," "Dynamite" and "Life Goes On" during the 2020 KBS Song Festival.
