On Sunday, Dec. 20, the Korean Brand Research Institute revealed their brand reputation ranking for girl group members this December. Keep on reading to see who made the top rankings.
The Korean Brand Researched institute analyzed 90,790,154 pieces of data concerning 535 girl group members from Nov. 20 to Dec. 20. They then determined a girl group's members participation index, media index, communication index, and community index, which is then added together to determine the idol's brand reputation index. Compared to the available data of 139,856,628 concerning girl groups in Nov., it decreased by 35.09%.
The brand reputation index is created through brand data analysis which helps find the online habits of consumers and what impacts brand consumption. Through the analysis of a girl group's brand reputation, we can discover the positive and negative influences of an idol on a brand, the media's interest in them, the general interest from the general public, and communication among consumers.
Sitting in the first place is BLACKPINK's Jennie, with a brand reputation index of 3,521,147. She has a participation index of 959,712, a media index of 719,911, a communication index of 789,710, and a community index of 1,051,814. Compared to Jennie's brand reputation index of 4,146,951 in Nov., her index fell by 15.09%.
Jennie is the girl group member who has topped the rankings the most in 2020, hitting number one for six consecutive months, and topping the rankings for 14 months overall. For eleven months this year, Jennie has never top three positions. Additionally, Jennie is the only girl group member who has never left the top 20 for the past 30 months.
Second place goes to MAMAMOO's Hwasa, with a brand reputation index of 2,053,052. Hwasa has a participation index of 692,203, a media index of 629,288, a communication index of384,681, and a community index of 346,879. Compared to Hwasa's brand reputation index of 3,782,996 in Nov., her index fell by 45.73%.
Oh My Girl's Arin sits in third place, with a brand reputation index of 2,028,688. She has a participation index of 611,116, a media index of 364,386, a communication index of 636,014, and a community index of 417,172. Compared to Arin's brand reputation index of 1,986,655 in Nov., her index rose by 3.00%.
In fourth place, we have Ladies' Code's Sojung, with a brand reputation index of 2,036,884. She has a participation index of 805,767, a media index of 285,085, a communication index of 523,445, and a community index of 422,588. This is the first time Ladies' Code's Sojung to be included in the girl group brand reputation rankings list.
Fifth place goes to BLACKPINK's Jisoo, making her the second BLACKPINK member in the top 5, with a brand reputation index of 1,704,950. She has a participation index of 9364,910, a media index of 454,615, a communication index of 555,503, and a community index of 329,923. Compared to Jisoo's brand reputation index of 2,874,083 in Nov., her index fell by 40.68%.
