On Saturday, Dec. 26, the Korean Brand Research Institute released their brand reputation rankings for idol groups in December. See who made the top rankings here.
The Korean Brand Research Institute analyzed the bran reputation index by extracting 143,994,751 pieces of data from Nov. 26 to Dec. 26 and measured consumer participation index, media index, communication index, and community index concerning idol groups. Compared to the 130,417,384 available data concerning idol groups from Nov. 2020, the number of data available increased by 10.41%.
The brand reputation ranking is an index created through data analysis and helps find the habits of consumers and the impact of an idol group on brand consumption. Through the analysis of an idol group's brand reputation, we can see the positive and negative influences of an idol group, the media's interest in them, and the amount of attention they receive from consumers.
First place goes to BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) with a brand reputation index of 18,972,090. The boy group has a participation index of 3,995,872, a media index of 4,049,610, a communication index of 5,512,729, and a community index of 5,413,879. Compared to their brand reputation index of 16,858,121 in Nov., their brand reputation index increased by 12.54%.
BLACKPINK (Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa) bagged second place with a brand reputation index of 8,401,874. The girl group has a participation index of 514,888, a media index of 2,774,708, a communication index of 2,543,740, and a community index of 2,568,537. Compared to their brand reputation index of 5,484,282 in Nov., their brand reputation index increased by 53.20%.
Third place goes to NCT (Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Ten, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, Jisung, Lucas, Jungwoo, Kin, Xiaojun, Yanyang, Hendery, Shotaro, and Sungchan) with a brand reputation index of 7,985,896. The group has a participation index of 600,160, a media index of 1,915,564, a communication index of 3,106,714, and a community index of 2,363,459. Compared to their brand reputation index of 6,165,057 in Nov., their brand reputation index increased by 29.53%.
SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Woozi, Wonwoo, Hoshi, DK, The8, Mingyu, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino) with a brand reputation index of 7,799,668. The boy group has a participation index of 790,152, a media index of 1,991,861, a communication index of 2,778,003, and a community index of 2,293,319. Compared to their brand reputation index of 4,470,186 in Nov., their brand reputation index increased by 75.68%.
(G)I-DLE (Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Soojin, Yuqi, and Shuhua) ranked in fifth place with a brand reputation index of 5,561,582. The boy group has a participation index of 204,160, a media index of 1,396,822, a communication index of 2,157,788, and a community index of 2,802,813. Compared to their brand reputation index of 4,226,288 in Nov., their brand reputation index increased by 55.26%.
