INFINITE's L (Kim Myungsoo) will be starting his military service next year!
According to an entertainment official on Dec. 28, INFINITE's L (Kim Myung Soo) recently applied for and passed the Marine Corps, and from the end of February next year, he will fulfill his duty as an active soldier. Kim is said to have planned and volunteered to enlist in the Marine Corps of his choice. Luckily, the singer got accepted. He is looking forward to carry out his mandatory military duties, according to an aide of INFINITE's L.
Apart from his enlistment, a source stated that Myungsoo is currently preparing a surprise gift for his fans before his military enlistment. While the entertainment industry persists in preventing military service and creating a scandal over military enlistment, the INFINITE member is garnering attention for his voluntary action to start as an active-duty soldier in the Marine Corps.
In response to the reports, his agency Management Esang confirmed that INFINITE's L has indeed applied for the Marine Corps and will be enlisting at the end of February next year.
INFINITE's L is currently playing one of the main roles in the KBS2 drama titled "Royal Secret Agent," which tells the story of a secret royal inspector who strives to bring justice, solve the people's problems, and disclose corruption. In particular, Myungsoo stars as Sung Yi Kyum who is a public official at the Hongmungwan (Office of Specia Advisors) who was then assigned to become a secret royal inspector.
In "Royal Secret Agent," INFINITE's L works with a number of actors and actresses, including Kwon Nara, Lee Yi-kyung, Lee Taehwan, Jo Soomin, and many more. The drama premiered on KBS2 on Dec. 21 and is being broadcasted every Monday and Tuesday. And according to reports, Kim Myung Soo plans to meet viewers through the said television show until the end before he enlists in the military next year.
Prior to "Royal Secret Agent," Kim starred in the fantasy romance drama "Meow, the Secret Boy" as a cat who transforms into a human male, this past March to April.
Meanwhile, Kim Myungsoo debuted under the stage name L in the boy group called INFINITE in 2010, which is being managed by Woollim Entertainment. Specifically, Kim is the visual and one of the vocalists of the band, which composed of six members and made its debut in June 2010 with the mini-album titled "First Invasion."
Apart from singing, INFINITE's L also took on the challenge of acting. He made his acting debut in 2011 in the Japanese drama "Jiu Keishicho Tokushuhan Sousagakari." Since then, he was cast in many television series, including tvN's "Flower Band," MBC's "Cunning Single Lady," "My Catman," "The Day After We Broke Up," and many more.
He gained more popularity as an actor when he starred in MBC's historical drama "The Emperor: Owner of the Mask," which aired in 2017. Thanks to his role in the drama, he was named "Actor of the Month" in June by MBC Dramanet.
INFINITE's L left Woollim Entertainment in August 2019. Despite him parting ways with the company, he is still part of the boy group.
