Producer Shinsadong Tiger and Universal Music Group to Debut New Girl Group Together

Shinsadong Tiger has joined forces with Universal Music Group, the world's largest record label, to launch a new K-pop girl group!

On Tuesday, Dec. 29, OSEN reported that songwriter and producer Lee Hoyang, professionally known as Shinsadong Tiger, is preparing to debut a new female act early next year. It is also said that Shinsadong Tiger is heading the launch of the girl group by creating the band's overall concept and producing a new song.

Universal Music Group, the world's leading music company, took part in forming the new band and in the production of its debut song. "We are looking forward to the creation of a global K-pop girl group that combines a variety of skills," the company stated.

Following reports, a source linked to Shinsadong Tiger shared that the co-produced new girl group is gearing up to make its official debut early next year. An insider connected to the female act revealed that the members possess versatile talents, unique visuals, and exceptional charm.

Shinsadong Tiger is known to be one of the major hitmakers in the entertainment industry of South Korea, particularly in the K-pop scene. Over the years, he has produced a number of songs that were always well received by the public. Some of the songs he produced are EXID's "Up and Down," MOMOLAND's "BBoom BBoom" and "BAAM," HyunA's "Bubble Pop," Apink's "NoNoNo," T-ara's "Bo Peep Bo Peep," and Highlight's "Shock" and "Fiction."

Other than that, he also produced IU's "Merry Christmas in Advance" and T-ara's "Roly Poly," both of which have recently become famous once again. Because of his impressive works that helped numerous girl groups to rise to the top, people are already highly anticipating the debut of his co-produced all-female band with Universal Music Group. Expectations about what kind of girl group Shinsadong Tiger will introduce to the music industry are rising.

At the age of 19, Lee Hoyang started to become famous for his work with K-pop artists, and a few of them are mentioned above. While he is known for composing songs for many solo artists and idol groups, Lee also gained prominence for managing girl group EXID, as well as for launching the Modern K Music Academy.

During his career, he received criticism for following trends in music and producing commercial music for K-pop idols. Shinsadong Tiger has confessed that he usually uses arbitrary inspiration whenever he composes songs, including toilet rolls as his inspiration for creating T-ara's "Bo Peep Bo Peep."

Aside from making songs for K-pop stars, Hoyang also made his own. He released his self-produced single titled "Supermarket - the Half" in 2011 - it features Lee Gikwang of BEAST, Yong Junhyung, and Yoon Doo, specifically on the track "Should I Hug or Not?"

In 2012, Lee launched his album titled "Supermarket - Another Half," which contains songs "Over and Over" by 4minute, "Stop Doing That" by G.NA, and "In the Cloud," a solo single by B2ST member Son Dongwoon. In 2013, he won the "Songwriter Award" at Melon Music Awards thanks to his works, "U&I" by Ailee, "NoNoNo" by Apink, and "Now" by Trouble Maker.
