NU'EST Aron to Take a Leave from Activities Due to Anxiety

On Saturday, Jan. 2, Pledis Entertainment announced that NU'EST member Aron will be taking a break from all activities due to anxiety. Keep on reading for all the details.

NU'EST agency, Pledis Entertainment, shared the news to fans through their official social media channels. According to the agency, Aron recently confessed to experiencing psychological anxiety and after receiving a medical examination, they received a specialist's opinion and were told that the idol needed time to rest and focus on recovery.

After carefully discussing the matter with Aron and the other NU'EST members, all parties agreed that Aron needed time to rest and focus on treatment and recovery. For the time being, NU'EST will continue promoting as four members: JR, Minhyun, Ren, and Baekho.

PLEDIS Entertainment's whole statement reads:

"Hello.

This is PLEDIS Entertainment.

We would like to inform everybody about the situation concerning the health and participation in group activities of NU'EST member, Aron.

Aron recently partook in a careful medical examination after experiencing symptoms of anxiety. He was then instructed by a physician that Aron required sufficient rest and recuperation.

After long discussions with Aron and the other members of NU'EST, it was decided that Aron needed time to focus on treatment and recovery, as well as time to rest. He will temporarily be absent from all official activities, and NU'EST will continue promoting for the time being with four members.

We would like to sincerely apologize for delivering this sudden news to all the fans who have always show unwavering love for NU'EST. We promise to put a high priority on Aron's health and recovery, and we will continue to work harder to ensure the health and safety of our artists.

We would like to ask that you refrain from making any unnecessary assumptions or misunderstandings concerning Aron's health and official activities, and we will continue to provide updates on the team's upcoming activities in a separate notice.

Earlier on May 11, 2020, NU'EST released their eighth EP "The Nocturne" with the title track "I'm in Trouble". The album topped Gaon's Weekly Chart in the Album Sales, Retail Album, Download, and BGM charts. The title track "I'm in Trouble" also debuted at number six on the Gaon Digital Chart, making it the first time NU'EST had a title track break into the top 10, excluding their singles as NU'EST W.

On Oct. 7, 2020, NU'EST released their second Japanese studio album "Drive." The said album is NU'EST's first Japanese album in five years after "Bridge the World."

Other than Aron's activities with NU'EST, he is also a former radio host. From 2013 to 2015, he hosted Arirang Radio's "Music Access" radio program. From 2015 to 2016, he hosted his own radio show, "Aron' Hangout," on SBS PopAsia.

Aron is also a songwriter. During his time as a member of the NU'EST sub-unit, NU'EST W, he wrote the lyrics for his solo songs, "Good Love" and "Wi-Fi." Back in 2014, Aron was a guest artist on Chad Future's song "Got it Figured Out." In 2018, he featured as a guest singer on Raina's song "Loop."
