BTS's "Map of the Soul: 7" continues to get recognitions from world-renowned music critics or media, and now V's "Inner Child" has been acknowledged as well.
Well-known British music media "NME" has released its "Best Asian Albums of 2020" and BTS's fourth Korean-language studio album was included on the list. In particular, the group's "Map of the Soul: 7" came in at No. 3. NME took note of how it's hard to tell what music BTS will produce next and stated that this is perhaps the reason why the K-pop boy group is captivating.

The music media then described the album as an expansion of BTS's eclectic pop sound and is composed of an array of genres, from soft rock (Jin's "Moon") to emo-rap ("Black Swan"), which brings listeners on a journey of self-exploration. But among the songs in BTS's "Map of the Soul: 7," NME chose V's "Inner Child" as the album's key track. According to them, the single is bound to become a K-pop classic in the coming years.
This is not the first time that BTS V's "Inner Child" was recognized. The track was selected as the only editor pick among solo songs in the "Map of the Soul: 7" review of All Music Guide, the world's largest music critic.
Released in February 2020, BTS V's "Inner Child" immediately entered the United Kingdom's official "Single Sales Chart Top 100," claiming the No. 44 spot. It also debuted on Portugal's "Official Charts" at No. 33, on Hungary's "Single Top 40 Hot Chart" at No. 4, and on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart at No. 2.
