SEVENTEEN is known to be one of the self-producing idols in the K-pop scene, and as time goes by, the boy group continues to showcase what they can do on their own.
On Jan. 11, the most recent episode of SEVENTEEN's reality show called "GOING SEVENTEEN" was uploaded to their official YouTube channel. The episode was centered on Mingyu's desire to publish their own magazine featuring all the members.
The video started with SEVENTEEN Mingyu sharing his idea to create their own magazine. A quick preview of the planning and concept meetings were shown. At the end of the discussion, the singer said, "I'm going to take it seriously."
It then transitioned to a scene where all 13 members of SEVENTEEN gathered together in one room with lots of outfits. Mingyu began the activity by saying, "Ending the year 2020, I've thought of shooting a self-produced magazine by SEVENTEEN. It became bigger than I expected. The title of the magazine is 'GOING'."
Mingyu then introduced the two members who will act as the stylists for the photoshoot: The8 and Joshua. Dino asked the two where they are from and The8 answered he came from China, while Joshua said his from the United States. It was followed by the introduction of the two hair designers, Jun and Woozi, and the one in charge of filming the behind-the-scenes, Wonwoo.
SEVENTEEN Jeonghan asked Wonwoo if he worked on something before, and he answered no. But, Woozi opposed what Wonwoo said and claimed that he worked with SEVENTEEN on 'HIT THE ROAD' and music videos, to which Wonwoo agreed.
Later on, Mingyu said that there will be a party after the photoshoot and the DJs will be BooSeokSoon (DK, Seungkwan, and Hoshi). As for S. Coups and Dino, these two were given the role of Mingyu's assistants. Jeonghan and Vernon acted as the reporters who were in charge of the interview portions of the pictorial. Last but not least, Mingyu was the photographer.
The photoshoot began and Seungkwan was the first model. He was followed by DK, Hoshi, The8, Jeonghan, Woozi, Jun, Vernon, Wonwoo, S.Coups, Dino, Joshua, and Mingyu. Shot after shot, the members were blown away by Mingyu's impressive photography skills. Toward the end of the activity, DJs DK and Seungkwan started playing some music, creating an energetic atmosphere.
SEVENTEEN, a 13-piece boy group managed by Pledis Entertainment, which debuted in May 2015. Since then, the members are actively participating in making their own songs, making them one of the most well-known self-producing idols in K-pop. Woozi is known to be the main producer of the group as he wrote and composed almost all of the boy group's songs. The other members are also credited for writing the lyrics of several tracks.
Aside from composing and writing lyrics, SEVENTEEN is also recognized for creating the choreography of their songs. In particular, Hoshi is considered the main choreographer of the boy band, but the other 12 members actively participate in creating the dance moves as well.
