On Sunday, Jan. 17, the Korean Brand Research Institute released their girl group members' brand reputation rankings for the month of January. Keep on reading to see who the most popular girl group idols for the month are.
The Korean Brand Research Institute analyzed the brand reputation index by determining an idol's participation index, media index, communication index, and community index. To do so, the organization analyzed 91,339,797 pieces of data concerning 535 girl groups from Dec. 17, 2020, to Jan. 17, 2021. Compared to the available 90,780,154 information last year, the data increase by 0.92%.
The brand reputation ranking is an index created through data analysis to find the online habits of consumers and what has a big impact on brand consumption. Through the analysis of female idols' personal brand reputation, we can determine their positive and negative influence, the media's interest in them, and the amount of interest and communication among consumer becomes measurable. This index also includes brand value analysis that measures brand influence.
Sitting at number one is BLACPINK's Jennie with a brand reputation index of 2,865,331. The female idol has a participation index of 533,272, a media index of 533,276, a communication index of 855,121, and a community index of 728,252. Compared to her brand reputation index of 3,521,147 in Dec., her index dropped by 18.91%.
At second, we have Oh My Girl's Arin with a brand reputation index of 2,415,960. She has a participation index of 923,766, a media index of 486,881, a communication index of 579,533, and a community index of 425,780. Compared to her brand reputation index of 2,046,259, her index increased by 18.07%.
BLACKPINK member Jisoo sits in third place with a brand reputation index of 2,405,932. The BLACKPINK member has a participation index of 525,470, a media index of 567,462, a communication index of 718,081, and a community index of 594,917. Compared to her brand reputation index of 1,704,950, her index increased by 41.11%.
Fourth place goes to (G)I-DLE's Soyeon with a brand reputation index of 2,257,766. The girl group member has a participation index of 238,965, a media index of 1,138,272, a communication index of 461,717, and a community index of 418,813. Compared to her brand reputation index of 260,224 in Dec., her index increased by 526.77%.
In fifth place, we have another (G)I-DLE member, Yuqi, with a brand reputation index of 2,087,574. She has a participation index of 322,737, a media index of 874,526, a communication index of 4225,003, and a community index of 465,308. Compared to her brand reputation index of 952,803 in Dec., her index rose by 119.10%.
