UNIVERSE Reveals Lineup of Performing Artists for Free 'UNI-KON' Online Concert

UNIVERSE, a newly-created global entertainment platform, will be hosting its very first K-pop concert and it features a star-studded lineup of performing artists.

Developed by game company NCSOFT, UNIVERSE is expected to be officially launched on Jan. 28. It is an app that allows users to enjoy a variety of fandom activities anytime on mobile. It will combine the latest technology with the best entertainment to give top-quality content for K-pop fans. The service is available in a total of 134 countries and three languages.

To celebrate its official launch via the Google Play Store and the App store, the global entertainment platform will be holding an online concert called "UNI-KON," which is short for "Universe K-pop Concert." The event will take place on February 14 at 7 p.m. KST! K-pop fans from all over the world will be able to watch the concert for free!

On Jan. 20, UNIVERSE dropped a teaser video for their upcoming online concert via their official YouTube channel. In the video, the entertainment platform unveiled the lineup of performing artists. It includes K-pop boy groups and solo artists: Kang Daniel, Park Ji Hoon. MONSTA X, ASTRO, The Boyz, ATEEZ, CRAVITY, AB6IX, CIX, and WEi, Meanwhile, the K-pop girl groups included are Oh My Girl, Cosmic Girls, IZ*ONE, and (G)I-DLE.

Ahead of the free online concert, most of these performing artists have already joined UNIVERSE. The very first idol group to establish their own "planet" is IZ*ONE. The band was followed by MONSTA X, The Boyz, Kang Daniel, (G)I-DLE, ATEEZ, AB6IX, ASTRO, WJSN or Cosmic Girls, CIX, and the latest addition is Park Ji Hoon.

And speaking of IZ*ONE, the project girl group is about to release new music with the global K-pop platform, making them the first band to do so. On Jan. 17, UNIVERSE shared a teaser schedule for an upcoming release from the female act titled "D-D-DANCE." The following day, the girl group revealed the first concept teaser and the cover image.

In both photos, the members sport royal blue school uniforms as they pose with books, crystal balls, quills, candles, and even tarot cards, evoking the mood of an academy filled with magic. For the cover image of the song, all 12 members are gathered in one place and the photo is bordered by a violet frame adorned with different moon shapes.

On Jan. 19, IZ*ONE uploaded the concept teaser images of Jo Yu Ri and Jang Won Young. The next day, the teaser photos for two more members, Kim Min Ju and Kim Chae Won, were released. The project girl group will continue to drop more teasers of the other members until the official release of their new song.

IZ*ONE's "D-D-DANCE" is set to be launched on Jan. 26 at 6 p.m. KST, and its music video will be out on Jan. 28, the same day as the launching of UNIVERSE.
