Chinese TikToker Goes Viral for Looking Exactly Like IU

This Chinese girl is going viral on Douyin (China's version of TikTok) for her uncanny resemblance to famous K-pop soloist, IU. Keep on reading to learn more!

Videos and photos of TikToker "wenhoney" have recently made their rounds around numerous online community forums. As the posts went viral, people could not believe just how much she looks like South Korean singer IU. The two have the same shaped eyebrows, similarly shaped eyes, and even have the same face shape! The duo also has similarly shaped mouths, and "wenhoney" has the same milky complexion as IU.

But it is not only her visuals that look like IU. Many people are adding that her gestures and poses only make her appear more like IU. Because of this, "wenhoney" is receiving a lot of love only for her flawless skin and her unique cute image.

Many people left comments, stating that at first glance, the genuinely thought it was IU. They need a second look to make sure it was not the soloist! People are calling "wenhoney" a total doppelganger, with people still suspicious. Is that not really IU?

2020 has been a busy year for IU. On Feb. 15, 2020, IU participated in a soundtrack for a drama for the first time in nine years, releasing the song "Give You My Heart" for the drama "Crash Landing on You". The track topped the Melon Charts, Genie Charts, Bugs Charts, and Soribada Charts less than three hours after it was released. On the Gaon Digital Charts, it debuted at number 71 but quickly shot up to number one the following week.

On May 6, 2020, IU released the song "eight", which was produced by BTS member Suga. Suga also featured in the song. The song is part of IU's "coming-of-age" series and follows "Twenty-three", which was released in 2015, and "Palette", which was released in 2017. The song title, "eight", comes from the Korean age of the two singers at the time of the song's release. They were both 28 years old.

In May 2020, IU started filming for her first commercial film "Dream", a sport-drama. She is acting alongside Park Seo Jun and is directed by Lee Byeong Heon. On June 19, 2020, IU dropped the song "Into the I-LAND" as a digital single. The song was used as the signal song for the Mnet survival show "I-LAND",

On Jan. 9, 2021, IU won the Digital Daesang Song of the Year for "Blueming" at the 35th Golden Disc Awards. On Jan. 11, 2021, her agency Edam Entertainment announced that she would be releasing a pre-release single titled "Celebrity" on Jan. 27, 2021. According to the agency, the song has a cheerful pop sound and is of the energetic music genre.
