[Trigger Warning/Content Warning: Mentions of death and assault]
Korean rapper Iron, who was well-known for winning second place in the third season of "Show Me The Money," was reportedly found dead.
According to a police report via Sports Kyunghyang, a security guard discovered Iron laying in a flowerbed outside his apartment complex in Jung-gu, Seoul, at approximately 10:25 a.m. KST today, Jan. 25. It is said that he was bleeding at that time. He was immediately taken to the hospital but was later declared dead.
Further details about what happened were not disclosed as of the moment. And no official statement from his management agency has been released yet.
Back in November 2016, the "Show Me the Money 3" first runner-up was charged for violating the Act on the Control of Narcotics, which is about the use of marijuana. It was unveiled that Korean rapper Iron, along with an aspiring composer named "Kang," was charged for three counts of using marijuana between December 2014 and March 2015. Because of this, he was ordered to pay a fine and attend 40 hours of rehabilitation.
In July 2017, he was charged with assaulting his ex-girlfriend and so he was ordered 80 hours of community service and a two-year probation period. The court ruled in favor of the victim as the claim of the accused (rapper Iron) about his ex-girlfriend requesting to be hit was unacceptable.
Then, in December 2020, he was once again booked on charges of assault, and this time a minor was involved. According to the police statement, rapper Iron accused the minor, who turned out to be his roommate, of lying to him and so he hit the backside of "A" around 50 times for 20 minutes with a baseball bat.
During the police questioning, "A' said that they had given rapper Iron a music file and was accused of corrupting it with a virus. But when the roommate denied it, that's when the assault as defined above happened.
