iKON Jinhwan Draws Attention after Posting a New Photo with an Interesting Message

Kim Jinhwan had fans wondering what iKON has been up to after posting a new photo on his Instagram together with a short yet interesting message.

On Jan. 26, iKON's Jinhwan updated his personal Instagram account with a new picture of himself. In the selfie, the male idol can be seen wearing a black baseball cap and a black hoodie as he poses for the camera. While it is just a normal image, the caption of the post had fans excited and curious at the same time.

Written below the new photo is an interesting message that reads, "Let's practice." What made Kim Jinhwan's Instagram post more intriguing is that his bandmate DK or Donghyuk left a comment under it. DK wrote, "Let's do diligently!"

Just with those two simple words plus DK's comment, fans believe that iKON might be preparing for something. It could be for an upcoming comeback or for their appearance on Mnet's upcoming boy group survival show titled "Kingdom." But either way, fans are looking forward to what the boys have in store for them.

iKON in Final Stage of Discussion to Participate in Mnet's "Kingdom"

What made many think that iKON Jinhwan's Instagram post might be referring to the group practicing their performance for Mnet's new competition is that the boy group was previously reported to be in the last stage of discussing their participation in the program. Mnet also confirmed this and said that iKON could probably join the lineup of competing artists.

So far, three K-pop boy groups have already accepted the offer of taking part in the boy group survival show, and these are The Boyz, Stray Kids, and ATEEZ. SF9 and BTOB are also currently in talks with Mnet in joining the show. On the other hand, MONSTA X has turned the offer, according to Starship Entertainment.

Mnet's "Kingdom" is a follow-up show to "Road to Kingdom," which was held last year with The Boyz being the winner. Similar to "Queendom," the previous and upcoming reality competition programs involve releasing comeback songs that need to be new, eliminations, and a final round where the remaining boy groups will perform their last comeback stages. Its first broadcast will air in April.

iKON's Most Recent Mini-Album

It's almost a year since iKON made their latest comeback with their third extended play, "I Decide," which was released on Feb. 6. This is the group's first release after being re-organized as a six-piece band. Initially consists of seven members, member and leader B.I left iKON and YG Entertainment in June 2019 after Dispatch revealed his attempt to purchase marijuana and LSD.

Meanwhile, short after the release of iKON's "I DECIDE," the mini-album hit No. 1 on different real-time music charts and iTunes charts in numerous countries all over the world. And the following day, the mini-album topped at least 24 various regions.

In other news, iKON's Bobby has just made his first solo comeback after three years and four months. He launched a new album titled "Lucky Man" on Jan. 25.
